the browns are in on jimmy, depending on their draft grades. carson palmer has sold his home in AZ, pulled his kids from school, and left the state. 2 teams will be in on jimmy.

However, if reports are true they are still looking for a 1st or 2nd rounder. Granted the Browns would do that. I don't see him trading him the Denver,Bills or Jets.

Still don't see the Pats pulling the trigger for some reason BC nobody is gonna offer a ransom for an unknown I'd give up a first rounder but I'm reading teams won't do that. Multiple picks with a 2nd being the highest seems to be the feeling

Still don't see the Pats pulling the trigger for some reason BC nobody is gonna offer a ransom for an unknown in a QB rich draft, maybe. there are 2 QB prospects worth a dime this year, one is watson. the other is a reach. its a defensive draft, tons of corners.

Nah. Hes got 1 yr left before he hits FA. Amd hes an unknown. 1 late first is the absolute max. I think maybe a 2nd and a conditional gets it done.

Short memory, Schaub as a backup in Atlanta and Hasselback in GB were seen as huge franchise changing acquisitions...And they both had pretty solid careers............I like Jimmy, but those guys were in the same position

He also had Holmgren trading for him. The guy knew exactly what he was getting.

Yup, took a shitty org to some playoffs, and SB and hung around the league for 50 years....Think Jimmy having a Hasselback career wouldnt be too embarassing

I still don't see teams giving up a ton for Jimmy and I don't see the Patriots trading him.
How many of these back up QBs have actually panned out? Hasselbeck sure.....Schaub, no one is going to want a Matt Schaub out of Jimmy. Cassell, Hoyer, Flynn.......no, no and no.

And if Jimmy is actually that good, the Patriots are craaaaazy to trade him. So what if he leaves after next season? That is a risk worth taking if Brady retires in the next 2 years.

If so, unless Bill thinks Garapunga will be his starting QB in 2018, then Jimmy should get traded.

Well, you gotta think he will 100% leave after this season, no? If he's offered Ossweiler type cash, can the Pats pay that to a backup, even if for a year or 2?

I don't see the Browns making that trade and I don't see NE really accepting it.....unless they know Jimmy is not that good. The problem with Brissett is we really didn't get to see what the kid can do.

Yeah, if Brady is still here, he walks. You all seem to have a lot more faith in Brady playing after next year than I do. Maybe I'm just a pussy, but with these injuries I don't see why he would, assuming he wins a ring. You have a family, all the money you would ever need, and seemingly your brain is not a jumbled mess....he wins a ring, why would he play the 2018 season outside of "he still has the drive."

Yeah, I dont see him retiring any time soon....His obsession with how he takes care of himself, the fact he never gets hit, I really think his mindset is to play as long as he can.......Id agree more with you if he showed he was declining this season, like Ben, Eli and Rivers have

Report: Browns have real interest in trading for Jimmy GaroppoloPosted by Michael David Smith on February 1, 2017, 7:45 AM EST Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has said this week that he’s giving no thought to where he might play next year. But perhaps he should start thinking about Cleveland. Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns will try to trade for Garoppolo. The Browns own the first overall pick in the draft and still could fall in love with a quarterback and take him first overall. But if they haven’t already fallen in love with North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky or Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, there’s only so much those quarterbacks can do at the Combine and in private meetings to change the Browns’ mind. What would it take to pry Garoppolo away from the Patriots? The first overall pick is likely more than Cleveland would spend. But the No. 12 overall pick, which Cleveland acquired in a trade from Philadelphia, could be the pick the Browns use on their franchise quarterback. And that may be Garoppolo, not Trubisky or Watson sportschatter.co/thread/new/13

I'd keep him for the 1 more year, worry about it after that. You could still pay him pay him as the next guy too, give him a nice up front bonus/low salary for a year or 2, salary boost after 1 or 2 years...get 'er done!

It's most likely going to be multiple second-round picks. The Jets reportedly had a lot of interest but were told they weren't going to be trading him within the division because the Patriots Believe Jimmy is going to be that good

www.csnchicago.com/chicago-bears/report-bears-plan-make-trading-patriots-jimmy-garoppolo-top-nfl-offseason-priorityREPORT: BEARS PLAN TO MAKE TRADING FOR JIMMY GAROPPOLO TOP OFFSEASON PRIORITYBy Scott Krinch February 02, 2017 3:09 PM It's abundantly clear: the Bears top priority this offseason is finding a franchise quarterback. Expected to cut ties with Jay Cutler at some point over the next few months, the Bears have already zeroed in one option to fill their need at quarterback. According to a report from CBS's Jason La Canfora, the Bears plan to make acquiring New England Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo their top offseason priority. "The Chicago Bears will make a strong, concerted effort to acquire quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo from the Patriots, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. The Illinois native is far and away their top offseason priority."
The 25-year-old Garoppolo, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract next season, is widely considered one of the top available trade options on the market this offseason as the Patriots are expected to deal the former second-round pick. The connection between Garoppolo and the Bears runs deep as the Chicagoland native starred at Rolling Meadows High School and played his college football at Eastern Illinois — the same alma mater as Bears GM Ryan Pace. Garoppolo has played sparingly in his three seasons with the Patriots. In limited snaps backing up future Hall of Famer Tom Brady, Garoppolo has thrown for 690 yards and five touchdowns in 17 appearances. As Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reported earlier this week, Pace and Garoppolo spent time together last August when the Bears and Patriots held joint practices in Foxborough. "We got to talk one-on-one and it was just a couple of Eastern guys hanging out," said Garoppolo, who is playing the role of Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan in practice this week as the Patriots prepare for Super Bowl LI. "There are not many Eastern Illinois guys (in the NFL), so it's a small group and we like to stick together." The Bears likely won't be the only suitor for Garoppolo's services this offseason. The San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns both have a need at the position and are rumored to explore the possibility of acquiring Garoppolo. Any interested team could begin exploratory talks with the Patriots, but a trade can't come to fruition until the new league starts following the NFL Scouting Combine in March.

Just makes for a good story is all. Nothing to see here.
