Funny how bawstun keeps flip flopping on Giraffalo. One day bawstun is trading him for two first rounders. Then he is unavailable. Then he is available for one high first. Then he is available for a middle first and a second.
Flip flop, flip flop. Just like a flounder.
I'll continue to stay with my prediction. He isn't traded this year and next year he either walks or is given the reins as the Patriots starting QB. Logic is on my side. When you have a 40-yerar-old QB and a roster built for a playoff run, you make sure you have insurance at QB.
It's a fluid situation. If they get what they feel he is worth, they move him. If not, they keep him. If they can get a 1st and a 2nd, I think you have to take that.

Pure speculation. The only thing the Pats org has said concerning the giraffe is that he isn't being traded.
But for argument's sake, let me ask you a simple question. With Brady injured for a significant portion of the season, which Pats team has the best chance to go deep into 2017 postseason:
Team A: The Giraffe starting at QB.
Team B: An additional first round pick and Brisketburger starting at QB.

I've said they should keep Jimmy just in case. 40-year old Brady makes me nervous. But there is a price at which you have to make that move. If you can get that much for your backup QB, you probably have to do it. That doesn't mean I'm sold on Brissett in any way. Jimmy would give them a much better shot in your hypothetical. But it's a worthwhile gamble for a 1st and 2nd pick, IMO.
Appearing on 97.1 in Columbus, Ohio, ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Browns won't be acquiring Jimmy Garopppolo no matter what they offer the Patriots.
Schefter added it's not about the Browns' offer; it simply sounds like the Patriots intend to hold onto their promising backup. The Browns have been stockpiling draft picks, potentially as a way to seduce the Patriots into giving them Garoppolo, but it apparently isn't going to work. Another team that was interested in Garoppolo, the Bears, have already moved onto Mike Glennon as their starter. The Browns will need to explore other avenues in their quest for a franchise passer.
No way I trade Jimmy now. I know it's a deep draft but how many picks does Bill need when the team is pretty much set? If something happens to Brady and they have to go with Brissette all these moves are for naught. I think keeping Jimmy and having a low cost capable back up is more important than more picks because lets face it even if Bill hits on those picks they most likely get traded after 4 years or just allowed to walk because they'll want to get paid. Jimmy could be the guy for 10 years.
a lot of reports about working on sending Jimmy to Cleveland but I really hope they dont do it, dont care if they can get a 1st plus.
