Jets is a closet Pats fan He's been pulling a reverse jinx for years This is just sick what they are doing. No team is close to them. They should be favored over the field to win the SB.

I can't believe we got Brandin Cooks for the 32nd pick and for sliding down 14 spots later in the draft.
I really can't.
Edelman Cooks Hogan Mitchell Amendola
bwwaaahahaahahahahaaaaaa....
Keep Hightower and let's make a run at 19-0

It looks amazing on paper. Mitchell and Cooks as the WR's will give Brady some serious options. Especially when you add in Gronk. Nowntheunxan just draft linemen and be good.

Bill works miracles with other teams trash. He comes to you with a trade for one of your guys, say no, and sign him long term bc he's obviously got something you need.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick has been a fan of Cooks since he entered the NFL as a first-round draft choice out of Oregon State in 2014. Belichick got an up-close look at Cooks in 2015 and 2016 when the Patriots and Saints held joint practices, and said after a preseason game, "I'm glad we don't have to play him twice a year and he's not in our division. He's a really good player."

Yes, I fully think they are gearing up for a 19-0 run.......but I also think that is why they got Cooks for so little. There are only so many teams out there willing to give up a 1st for Cooks. You are either going to have to pay him or he is hitting the market in 2 years....so there are plenty of teams who don't feel a WR is worth that.

For the Patriots is a very low risk move....they don't need that first rounder, especially if they are building for a short term 19-0 type run. A team like the Jets, this would be an awful high risk move.

Had talent but could never produce consistently. Gettleman was going to cut him but found someone who was willing to take a shot. Since Bill gave up 8 whole spots to get him not a bad reclamation project

The 19-0 talk IS absurd. Have you seen their schedule next year? I'm thinking 12-4 again. You won't see another 16-0 team for a long time. Away: Steelers, Bucs, Saints, Raiders, Broncos, Bills, Dolphins, Jets Home: Texans, Panthers, Falcons, Chargers, Chiefs, Bills, Dolphins, Jets

I am guessing that Brady wants to play 2 more years. Get him everything he needs to have a couple more good runs.

Maybe so. I figure they lose in Denver. I can see them losing 1 of: @tb, @oak & @no, too. Then they usually piss away a division game. I see a few losses there. You need everything to break right for 16-0. Nice that they have CAR,KC & ATL at home, though. Those are tough places to play.

So he would have to take another short term, incentive based, prove-it deal. What better place to do it than here?

Regardless, my point stands: 16-0 is fucking hard. You need to catch a lot of breaks along the way. You know a game can turn on a bad snap or a muffed punt(think of the SEA loss this year or the home loss to Philly a couple years ago). Then you need to be lucky with injuries, too. 16-0 doesn't matter anyway. They've done that and have bigger goals in mind.

The depth of weapons on this team is deeper than anything I have ever seen. Yes, deeper than 2007. If we get Hightower and Butler back, the #1 defense in the league added a top 10 CB and lost nothing of significance. Of course it will be hard. But it is absolutely in play.
