there are about 5 teams trying to win in 2018 if reports are true, the Brewers are trying hard to get something done, in on Darvish, Arrietta and now Yelich.....Id like to see them make a splash mostly cause at least they are trying |

LOL...Def one of those teams that would prob have to overpay market price for a FA, but strictly from a winning standpoint, they do have some really good young talent going on there |

there are about 5 teams trying to win in 2018 Yup. There are a handful of “super teams” and the rest don’t really see a need to spend an extra $10m or $20m to be a potential wild card team. Strange way of thinking, but hard to deny what’s going on. |

But now I’m starting to wonder how wise it is to give a DH $100m+. They need a bat, but I don’t think he’s worth it. I wish they had been in on Jay Bruce, though. |

I wouldnt mind the DH thing, in a weird way, you almost think his body staying fresh as a DH, he may have a better chance of holding up throughout the life of his contract, especially with his injury history |

But the Mets source said that Reyes coming back is more insurance for second base and they will continue to look at free agent options for a starter. Neil Walker is still available as a free agent at second base, or the Mets — who GM Sandy Alderson said were looking at the situation “expansively" — could make a move for a third baseman and move Asdrubal Cabrera to second. While Mike Moustakas is still out there available as a third baseman, he is said to have at least one big, multi-year deal on the table. The Mets have also been in contact with former Reds and Yankees third baseman Todd Frazier, a more economical route.

Yelich under control for five years, $58.25M. The return to the #Marlins will exceed what they received for Ozuna and Stanton, and possibly by quite a bit.
