So now Trotz is demanding a review of Guentzels "high hit" on Carlson
It's towards the end of this video. Trotz is also the one that thought there was nothing wrong with Wilson's hit on Aston Reese. Saying it was just shoulder to shoulder contact.
Trotz never did explain how Aston Reese got a broken jaw from a shoulder to shoulder hit. Trotz also minimized the hit on Dumolin saying that it too was shoulder to shoulder.
That having been said the Pens are going down on Monday to end the Stanley Cup run. They are playing better now, but they just don't have the energy they need.

Hard to be disappointed with the Pens losing in the second round after winning back to back Cups. They looked tired against Philly, but still won, they looked tired but the defense kept making mistakes against the Caps and that cost them. Murray didn't play like he did the last couple years and that hurt. I think something is wrong with Letang. Maybe he had another stroke or something, but he kept making horrendous mistakes.
Well its over for me. For the first time in 3 years I don't have to keep an eye on the Stanley Cup playoff schedule. Gonna catch up on my fishing now.

It's only one game, but the Jets were looking good and Fluery was looking like he did before Murray got to Pittsburgh.

They pulled it back together and started playing defense in front of Fluery and Fluery was making some great saves. The series could go either way and either team is deserving of being in the finals.

Speaking of "either team is deserving of being in the finals", that tilt last night between Washington and Tampa Bay proves the same thing about those two teams. Goddamn, the Capitals threw everything but the proverbial kitchen sink at Vasilevskiy, and he was a combination Gumby and Slinky all night. Tampa has lots of offense and is not so great on D but he's the great eraser. A goalie this hot can win the Cup for a team almost by himself. I don't blame Alexander here...

I have a question for anyone who wants to answer. A few years ago the League decided they wanted to reduce concussions so they started taking boarding and head shots more seriously. There was a pretty big reaction on the old Fan Line about how this would ruin hockey. Just wondering if anyone still thinks it has ruined hockey or made it less hairy chested. Maybe I'm just a (wuss) but I like the game better now. I used to cringe watching players getting blasted head first into the boards. I know it still happens, but it doesn't happen near as often as it used to. I think its opened the game up a little and made it easier to watch.
So what do yinz guys think?

The game is better and safer. And with what we now know about brain injuries including concussions it would've been irresponsible of the league not to take action to reduce boarding and head shots.
