Allen Craig is a problem. Signed for a few more years at moderate money, but there is someone on the team that can play each of his positions better than he can. They're going to have to give Craig away for low level prospects.

As a Red Sox, the RBI pace Cespedes is on would project to 121 over a full season. Don't ask about Allan Craig. It's ugly. No, it's worse than ugly. It's fugly. 98.5 had a nice bit on craig this morning fred toucher of TnR is a cards fan since birth...insists that craig will be fine next year, but does point to his gaudy BA with RISP over his time inSTL. hes cheap, hes under contract, and can play multiple positions. hes still hurt. He'd better come back next year and rack... Otherwise the trade was god awful!

Cueto is on the Red Sox next season. Hope you like over-hyped prospects! I'd bet Latos is the one traded. I think they'll try to sign Cueto. I don't want Latos. Very talented, but I fear he has a 50 cent head. Can they keep Cueto with the money spent on Votto and Bailey already??

the only reason i can fathom why beets isnt at 2B with dusty out, is someone is eyeing him as a Cfer in a trade No. They already moved Betts to CF to accommodate Pedroia's lifetime contract. They don't want to flip hop back and forth. He's an OF now and they want him to learn the position.

Banana Bob has already said he intends to keep at least one of the 3 pending 2016 free agent starters...maybe 2. 2 of the 4 of Cueto, Latos. Leake, and Chapman will stay. The other 2 will be dealt sometime before they hit the market.

Heard a lot about it when he was with the Padres. Prob not a good candidate for the Boston vacuum.

I figure Victorino is gone. Not being a wet blanket. Just telling you why Betts is playing the outfield now.

And Cespedes, I forgot to mention him You don't like Napoli anymore? Broken down Volkswagen Less than 50 RBI in the heart of an order The OBP is nice, but the productions screams the end is near. But I get a feeling he's a guy that could bet an effective middle rotation type guy

fullcount.weei.com/sports/boston/baseball/red-sox/2014/09/12/source-dont-count-on-red-sox-going-after-two-high-priced-pitchers/According to a major league source, the Red Sox‘ offseason plan doesn’t include going after two high-priced free agent pitchers. There will be, however, undoubtedly heavy interest from the team when it comes to acquiring one top of the rotation starter. The idea of the Red Sox going after the likes of multiple top-tier free agent hurlers — such as Lester, Shields, Max Scherzer, or Ervin Santana — has been an intriguing one, especially after Sox chairman Tom Werner stated on Thursday’s Dennis & Callahan show, “I wouldn’t say that we have limitless money, but we’ve got a lot of money to spend and we’re determined to go into the free agent market and improve the team.” Also making the idea that the Red Sox might go all-in on the free agent pitching market intriguing is the uncertainty when it comes to their current starters. Clay Buchholz has reemerged as a candidate to be considered a top-of-the-rotation starter — totaling a 3.18 ERA and .202 batting average against in his last seven starts. But there remains significant uncertainty regarding the rest of the group. If the season ended today, Joe Kelly and Rubby De La Rosa most likely would be the only other two slotted in for the 2015 rotation.

I however wouldn't consider Santana on the same tier as Lester, Shields, or Scherzer. Shields + Santana would be a win.
