So said San Antonio and Seattle with getting the Sactown Kings. Shit happens Did those cities get stadium funding done in record time? Who cares how fast you get the funding it's only getting the team that counts, just ask Kansas City or Quebec City who built arenas only to be left with concerts and Trade shows to generate revenues

Khalil Mack is the defensive player of the year
The Raiders’ long playoff drought ended this year and one of the biggest reasons why was the play of defensive end Khalil Mack, who has been named the NFL’s defensive player of the year by the Associated Press in Houston on Saturday night. Mack was recognized after a season that saw him record 73 tackles, 11 sacks, five forced fumbles and an interception that he returned for a touchdown. He added 11 more tackles in Oakland’s playoff loss to the Texans, who were playing without three-time defensive player of the year J.J. Watt. The win adds to the accolades that Mack has received since the Raiders made him the fifth overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. They selected quarterback Derek Carr in the second round of that year’s draft and the two players have become the foundation of a Raiders team with a bright future that was only dimmed slightly by a playoff loss that unfolded without Carr in the lineup due to a broken leg. Mack is the first Raiders player to win the award since cornerback Lester Hayes took the honors in 1980. Based on how good Mack has been in his first three NFL seasons, it may not be long before the team is celebrating further honors for him as well as a deeper run into the postseason. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/02/04/khalil-mack-is-the-defensive-player-of-the-year/

Why do you insist on comparing this deal to completely unrelated shit? This wasn't rumor, leaked stories, or posturing or political bravado. This actually had legislative movement and financing, through public and private sources, approved to this point. There was some serious movement. Keep the blinders on i guess. Hey Pete Jim Ballisse bought the Coyotes and was moving them to Hamilton. The NHL nixed that in court. Yeah the Saskatoon one was a joke. They almost were sold to a Seattle ownership group 2 seasons ago until Barroway stepped in at the last minute which is why the Canucks farm team is in Utica instead of Seattle cause the Key Arena wouldn't let them play there as the Yotes were supposed to move there. When you trash a comment make sure you're right. I wasn't expecting I had to go into the history of it Youre right, they are all identical to whats going on here.

Well BofA stepped up for Adelson, and they are going to announce the new developer that is on board. Word is there are no owners on the record that are going to vote against it, and the major players are ready to go forward. I cant remember if it was rinaldi or la canfora, but one of them reported that the NFL and the owners are not going to walk away form the $750,000,000, especially when there isnt another option that is even close. Oakland isnt even a close second at this point. So its looking like even if they dont come to vegas, they wont be on oakland regardless.

Oakland isnt even a close second at this point. So its looking like even if they dont come to vegas, they wont be on oakland regardless. At this point the NFL is fine with the Raiders going to Vegas. They realized that now with all the money in the Bay Area and the 9ers down south in Santa Clara, a huge vacancy that an owner with deep pockets (so definitely not Mark Davis) could exploit. We're talking Larry Ellison/Mark Zuckerberg type money. They've wanted to force Davis out for years anyway. The Raiders have been leaking money for years, and there's absolutely no excuse for that in the market they are in. The only reason is the incompetency of management. Put a smart businessman in that market and it's a gold mine. Another reason: The NFL needs a bogeyman city to scare other cities into publicly funding new stadiums. LA has played that role for the last 20 years, but now that the Rams and Chargers have taken that option away, they need a new place. The 6th largest TV market in the country will do just fine. Oakland/The East Bay is going to be the new NFL bogeyman.
