The league would like them to stay in the very rich Bay area, time however is not on their side The league wants what? I think the league wants global recognition, and there are few cities in the world more well known globally than Las Vegas. Might be a few bucks here too. They officially filed with the league to move to Vegas today. They need 24 owns to vote for it. With the heavy hitters like Arthur Blank, Jerrah, and Kraft already publically saying the move makes sense, I dont see it not going through. After the owners vote, that will say what the league wants. Okay think you're missing the point. Tickets are afterthoughts these days they can only generate so much money that way the big money is in corporate and the Silicon Valley way out does pretty well anywhere with the exception of LA & NYC. Firsdt off the casinos are ambivalent of the team as they would make more money if those 60K people were spending their entertainment dollars in their casinos. They will probably move but if the Niners didn't nix a stadium deal once already this point would be moot, but if another pops up don't be surprised if the Niners take a relocation fee from the Raiders encroaching on "their" area. The clock will be ticking and if there is no movement soon it will be moot And they didn't say the move made sense it was about the fact that Las Vegas isn't the "Sin City" it once was and legalized gambling isn't an issue in the movement of a team to Las Vegas

Oakland is not exactly silicone valley, and Oakland didnt do shit to keep the team the team there after years upon years of political bullshit. Las Vegas is a Global city. I never said anything about tickets, and that was a total "no shit" comment. I guess you think that people will be coming into town, and going to the game, then leaving. The Stadium is going to be on the south end of the strip, within easy walking distance of the strip, with a monorail connection as well. This is going to bring money in from all over the world. People from everywhere will be marking their calendars when their team is playing the Raiders. This is a really a non issue. The Raiders will be in Vegas. I am going to guarantee it right here. If you think not, lets make an av bet or something. Also, "they said" different things, and Jerrah said It is going to happen, write it down.

So said San Antonio and Seattle with getting the Sactown Kings. Shit happens Did those cities get stadium funding done in record time? Ah yes the Seattle bid was okayed for an arena as long as they got a NBA team They bought the Kings and voila the Kings got a new arena and the league had them stay and vetoed the sale, so yes and Seattle never got a team

Have a few minutes to read? www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2017/01/24/to-lure-raiders-nevada-officials-willing-to-bet-big-with-public-money/And don't get me wrong. I would love the Raiders to have a shiny new stadium, wherever it's at. Maybe the owners will approve it, just because it's very likely to fail spectacularly, which will give them an excuse to force Davis' hand to sell and thus remove the chintzy millionaire from the All-Billionaires Club of NFL Owners. That's more than likely the real reason Jerry Jones might think it's a good idea. 22,000 out of town fans per home game? All to go see a team that's been good for exactly one year out of the last 15? Good luck with that.

We have 2 million people, and there is a bar for every single professional team, of every single sport. There is no other city like this in the world from a sports stand point. I dont see why you think it would fail, and then to say it would fail spectacularly is ridiculous. I think the Raiders are the only team that would work here, and it will be the only team that would absolutely have a home team advantage right away. You literally can not drive anywhere in this town without seeing Raiders bumper stickers or jerseys, hats etc... The stadium gets built regardless of whether the Raiders come here or not. The only thing that changes is the size. I have heard people say that Adelson might back out, which is fine. He has been nothing but a cunt his entire life. The Fertittas and Steve Wynn have been rumored to take his place, and don't want to get publicly involved until dipshit Adelson finally makes it official that he is out. I dont know where that 22,000 out of town fans number is coming from, besides out of someone's ass, but you can bet your ass that many people will be circling their calendars for their teams games in Vegas. Raider fans are some of the most loyal, regardless of how shitty they have been. Or that they have already left for LA. I think the fans of the Raiders will travel as much as any other visiting team. I have been following this pretty closely, and I can go and cherry pick articles that point to the other side. It is going to happen.

Good luck with that. Plus that article is full of bullshit. Adelson is only on the hook for 250 mill. Also Giunchigliani is grand standing to try and show some bullshit political support for the public. The money could be used for many other things, and I am not a fan of how it got funding. Public funded stadiums are not generally a good idea. I do think Vegas is different. Its not like if the locals buy all the tickets that they wont be selling them to visiters for triple the original price. I think its kind of silly to act like people wont be coming here or some shit. I dont see how it matters about the tourists. The hotels are sold out every fucking weekend regardless. The room taxes get paid either way. Bunch of bullshit in this article in my opinion.

As Peter mentioned, it doesn't necessarily kill the deal and the NFL probably wanted Adelson out anyway.
What is damaging is the way they did it. I'm thinking Adelson might not be a guy you want to be on the wrong side of.
But Mark Davis has no money. He's relying on $300M to come from the NFL (even though the G4 funds are supposed to be for staying in the home market) and selling $200M in PSL's, then borrowing the rest from Goldman Sachs or some other investor.
He's like the kid you send away to college who is maxing out his credit card you gave him. At some point these charges are going to get declined.

Do you know anything about billionaires? If they see that kind of subsidy, there will be more interested parties. I wonder if the league told Davis to pipe it down until after the superbowl. The stadium is going to get built with or without the Raiders. The stadium will benefit the community here, from the UNLV stand point. In a big way I believe. UNLV plays at a stadium that is 30 miles from campus, in a shithole part of the valley, and is outdated by 30 years. The locker rooms are worse than what my kid had in highschool. If they build this where they are planning, it will be closer to campus and would help immensely in recruiting. UNLV is shit I know, but they have done more in the last two years, than ever in my memory. They are building a bad ass practice facility now. I don't expect them to turn things around and be anything more than a competitor for the MWC winners at some point, but they are actually making move and have boosters for the football program for the first time ever. Keep scoffing, nothing is over yet, and its more about others than it is davis at this point.

All I know about billionaires is that Mark Davis not one.
The NFL can't force him to sell.
But keep holding to that dream.
The UNLV dome should be great. And it will cost a fraction of a Raiders stadium.

There was some serious movement. Keep the blinders on i guess. Hey Pete Jim Ballisse bought the Coyotes and was moving them to Hamilton. The NHL nixed that in court. Yeah the Saskatoon one was a joke. They almost were sold to a Seattle ownership group 2 seasons ago until Barroway stepped in at the last minute which is why the Canucks farm team is in Utica instead of Seattle cause the Key Arena wouldn't let them play there as the Yotes were supposed to move there. When you trash a comment make sure you're right. I wasn't expecting I had to go into the history of it
