I dont follow...I said I haven't anything seen anything in any of this that suggests Bradys wants his balls under the legal limit. the only times the texts mentioned PSI that Brady wanted were legal numbers...one said he wanted them to be 13 PSI (legal) another said he wanted them at lower end of the legal limit...If those texts said "they were supposed to be 12 PSI" that would be pretty clear evidence. But again, only legal numbers were in those texts. glad they're going to fight it this time. Most legal types seem to agree that "report" is a bunch of BS. From the Boston Globe Tom Brady will have tough time beating Roger Goodell in courtI disagree I have read a lot of the report. A lot of that is just quoting that Munson guy who "writes" for the Jets on ESPN look at this as a court case and objectively for a minute there is no documentation of what the footballs PSI was before the game. None that right there kinda makes it hard to prove anything all we have to go on is Anderson's word they were 12.5 when he checked. They base most of this from his recollection. Yet he rembers using one gauge but that gauge showed no wrong doing so the report acts like he must have used the other one... so you take the key witness's word for evrything except for which gauge he used when the 2 gauges were pretty different in appearance? THis guy gauged 24 balls, you take his word for that part and what the PSIs were but not what gauge he claims he used? All he finally said was "I guess it's possible I used the other gauge" and they went with that...That seems right to you? Honestly? If so, again why should I bother with this? but I know nobody is interested in actually looking at this objectively, which is why I havent said much. Since that BS story that all the balls were "2 PSI under" came out they were GUILTY in nnthne court of public opinion nothing at all fishy about the NFL not only leaking the bogus "2PSI under" thing but never correcting it, never mind all the other "leaks" that turned out to be false. the main "evidence" is some texts between co workers that joke around a lot. not much different than what happens here really, inside jokes that to outsiders appear to be something else. I removed a shout from (I think) Stormy "you call this place an improvement?" because I thought he was bashing my site. Find out later that was something from another site...Geneh left here because he thought I seriously threatened to ban him...hell Hoopla thinks I ban evryone because we joke about bannnings a lot and Pickles likes to "ban" guys for like 15 minutes, as a joke...looks real to "outsiders" though. Hard to tell from typed words which anyone would agree with in any other case yet we're using typed words as evidence of cheating...not to mention, yet again, evry PSI mentioned in those texts was legal aside from the 16PSI from that Jets game and even then he said the refs put them that high, they were "Supposed to be 13"

Sorry the quote was in the McNally thread here it is I know the first reaction of Pats fans is to look at this like it was a court trial and apply those standards. Well, it isn't a court trial and those rules do not apply. No one was arrested and indicted or any of those things. The NFL is a Franchise and a business and like any business it can deal with it's employees internally and unless some federal law has been violated, then it is final. that is the starting point that people have to understand and then go forward with reaction. Swampy- You are beating your head against a wall. That can be fun too. Pats fans feel they are not being treated fairly. They have a point in that the Pats would have piss pounded the colts that day if they had used a pet rock for a ball. and yes, most likely every QB has his favorite game balls. Not the issue.
It is like this. 31 cars drive over the speed limit and car number 32 gets pulled over. ya still were speeding and you got caught.
As you said days ago. " Brady you should have owned it. " dumbass Tommy and his attorneys and dumb ass Kraft thought they could end run the thing, play a prevent defense and it would all go away. They both got bad advice from their mouthpieces. They made it personal to the commissioner and Wells and that was their downfall. And now Kraft is just making it worse. His crying victimization may sell in Beantown, but it is a flop every where else.
Best case scenario for Tom Brady if he mans up to Rajah is a reduction to two games suspension.

Yes they probably would have slaughtered them with a pet rock. Caught cheating is caught cheating Yes without a doubt if Tom had owned this off the bat there would have probably only been a small fine

Well it's going to be won or lost in court now It will be in the court in Manhattan of The NFL's choosing. They have already filed there. Pre-emptive strike. Now it is up to Brady's lawyers to argue that there is anything to argue about to begin with. It is hard to explain how your client destroyed evidence and refused to cooperate in an investigation but was some how not given a fair hearing. Brady's arrogance from the beginning made him his worst enemy in all of this. He did everything wrong from the start and now he is in a hole and is still not smart enough to just stop digging. Most of this is a self inflicted wound.

Best thing he could have done was stand in front of the cameras back in January with his "aw, shucks" smile and just fessed up to it. Damage would have been minimal, he could have ate a fine and moved on. Could have invoked the "Hey - everyone else does it too" and made the league look bad. He's been getting a whole lot of bad advice ever since.

Now it's more about his character than it is about PSI and from where I'm standing it ain't lookin' good.

He's been getting a whole lot of bad advice ever since. Exactly. The only thing is we will never know what advice he did get. He may have received good advice and ignored it. Hubris. He is a star athlete and like many star athletes, he feels empowered. Face it, he does come off as arrogant often, but no one is bigger than the game. No one. I give the commish credit for standing up and sticking to his beliefs. It is a no win situation for him in many ways. But a league without a strong commissioner is nothing more than what MLB has been since they put in their puppet owner Selig, and that is no compliment. Tommy, the day you destroyed the cell phone which was sought as evidence to exonerate you or implicate you was the same day you met with Wells and that is the day you brought all this down on you. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. Minnesota judge is the one all the leagues run to for the players, but this time it is different. It was the coverup , not the crime.

This is getting too stupid for words And Kraft basicly admitted bribing the NFL to get Brady off the hook. It is now obvious the only solution since cheating and lying run through the highest levels of the Pats organization that the team should be disbanded, the franchise sold to a new owner and moved to LA (or the league will move them to London).

this statement shows me this source (like 95% of the public)isnt very up to date on the facts on this. The Judge went there (asking for "proof" and looking at the facts ) because of what happened the previous day when Goodell offered Brady a "deal" of reduced suspension in return for Brady "accepting" the findings of the Wells report and admitting guilt...so the Judge said, well let's get in to that report then...where is the proof? and "more probable than not? what the hell does that mean? also noticed Ron Borges wrote that lololol

Borges is an idiot. Not a fan. But Rick Gosselin with the Dallas Morning News is the one who retweeted it. And I am a huge fan of him, Zig. He's pretty straight down the middle and has been saying all along that this hearing wasn't about whether or not the arbitrator was right or wrong but whether or not the process was properly followed. And he has maintained for the last couple of weeks that the League (i.e.; Goodell) followed the process as it was laid out in the CBA. I don't think Brady plays until the Colts game. Like it or not - I get the sense Goodell covered his tracks on this one by making sure that filing took place in NYC and not Minnesota.

Ineptness of this level in the corporate world usually results in a nice handshake, a parachute and statement about "pursuing other opportunities".
