Well it's a quarter of the way into the season and what are you're teams woes?
Philly- Still need a solid DMAN and another goal scorer, We need someone on a second line that is a pure goal scorer, would love to get Kessler(can't believe I said it) see if he can get in a groove here in Philly.
AV's- Reverse problems from the Flyers lol. Also let that Groin heal Varley, hard headed Russian!

Getzlaf would be great addition but we don't have trade bait.. Maybe Patrick Sharp, welcome home?

Well... my Stars are pretty much watching the season sail away with their unreliable goaltending and inconsistent defense and and an inability to control the puck.
They did just show signs of some defensive improvement. But Lehtonen lets too many soft ones in. This upcoming road trip starting in Vancouver may reveal a little more about where this team is headed.
They can score. That isn't the problem.

Sharks will make the playoffs probably and lose in the first or second round.

Blues fan here and I have very little to complain about. I'd love to see healthy goaltending of course with Elliot back to 100%. Tarasenko added the needed offense and they win close games. We just need a hot hand in the playoffs and it could be a Western finals/Cup team

Horford, Millsap and Teague are playing really well right now. Wait a minute here! I'm on the wrong board. Well, at least I am on the right site.

Poor Mason Plays his ass off and gets no help on either side of the puck.. Mason is mediocre at best. Most of the time Ray Ray out plays him. Maybe the argument could be the team plays better in front of the back up but last nights game was another awful one. You are a one trick pony. Giroux and Vorachek. No one else is worth a shit. Simmonds can only score from in front the same shit as the Hairbag Hartnall. No goalie, no D and 2 forwards. Fuck the fire sale, you need to convince players to come to Philly. You made a cup run and then had the fire sale which led you to this current state of affairs. You have nothing to sell. You sold it all. Richards, Carter, Sharp, JVR....etc.

Simmonds is a good role player, adds grit and size and will drop the mitts when need be. Why the fuck they waste a jersey on Rinaldo is beyond me.

The Thrashers didn't really move out of Atlanta. The real story is much more shocking.
They went out on the ice to practice late one night. Not a creature was stirring. Not even a mouse.
Then a cute little blonde skated out on to the ice. She opened her frock, opened up her blouse.
Everybody stopped what they were doing. She pulled a MAC-10 to the ready. Then she cleaned out the house.
The ice turned red as a rose. Everybody was a-dying as she flipped her hair back and struck a Ronda Rouse pose.
So they packed up their shit and covered their bets. They flew up north and cranked up the Winnipeg Jets.

We could stand to lose everybody except our two trick ponies, Good teams start with defense(yes even Chicago) so that's where this team needs to start, LA and Homer fucked us good on a trade that gave us Simmonds and a young dud. By fire sale I refer to players who need to be let go for whatever, a build has to start somewhere, Also JVR hasn't been a thriving player in Laughland either, and yes Mason is mediocre at best which could win a lot of games with a good solid defense, however when he plays amazing there is usually no one else playing good. it's a lot of different factors but the bottom line is Hextall needs to clean house and yes start the enticements from there.

Isnt Homer still hanging around in some capacity? I believe you have two stud d-men that were loaned to Canuckistans WJ team. Maybe one is in Phantoms org. Can't remember....but you have some young ones coming up in the future so hopefully they pan out as franchise guys. Mason played lights out against the Rangers in the playoffs last year, but unfortunately I havent seen him make saves like that in awhile. He seems insecure. Agree on JVR, but he has to more of a point producer than the other Flyer forwards not named Simmonds, Giroux or Vorachek. I like your core group but not a fan of the coach. Too often, he goes with Vorachek and Giroux as linemates and it pretty much is one and done after that.

Well I hope the two Dmen you speak of(Lauridsen, Gostisbehere) become superstars but one wonders when they play? Ghost got some reps in the begining of the season but was sent back down, not sure if it was because of injury or not. And Mason has def not been consistent at all at any time this year. Not to thrilled with Berube either but he's at least got the teams respect, he just needs to become a little more offensive minded, he may be on the outside looking in or if the org is smart he'll be offered his bench coach job back. The bottom line is there's too many things wrong and too many NTC"s on this team.

some thoughts on the thread after reading these.
1. flyers d will be fine. ghost, morin, sanheim, and hagg will be at least nhl capable dmen. ghost was sent down mostly to get quality playing time. having him on the big club is a massive waste and could fuck him up immensely in the confidence dept. those other guys you dont hear much on, but they are doing well in their respective leagues.
2. simmonds. flyers moved richards for simmonds, brayden schenn, and a pick (was flipped for nick grossman). hard to even look back at that trade now and say it wasnt worth it. simmonds is a first line winger imo, but the flyers put him on the second line bc they have voracek. schenn, doesnt look like anything special, but i think he will be a crucial trade piece bc of his age. grossman, a decent defensive dman who plays very physical. keep in mind, richards did win a cup in LA, but he has REALLY been in the doghouse ever since, sometimes being relegated to the 4th line.
3. mason. i think you guys are nuts. i think mason has been great. sadly (for him), he is holding the seat warm for Stolarz and the d coming up. this d the flyers have now is baaaaad. emery is decent, but he lets in softies imo.
4. coaching. im SOOOOOO not a "blame the coach" guy, however i'm thinking berube isnt the guy for philly. he is always juggling lines, and sitting guys for no reason (see delzotto). no clue who there is to get, but im mystified by chief sometimes.

Roo and crew aren't getting any younger, A massive defensive change wouldn't hurt much right now cause it's gotta happen in the off season so.... 2- Sorry man, this trade was def a better winner for LA, they needed a good solid tough gritty forward who was decent on faceoffs and Richards has won two cups now, not saying Simmonds isn't a decent forward but his defensive skills lack emensely, Richie could play every situation and is a great PK guy also, Simmonds, not so much. 3- Although I agree Mason was very good last year I just don't see this guy putting together any amazing season or getting hot enough to win a cup. It's time to start filling new rolls on this team. 4- Berube doesn't need to leave, but would like to see a better coach and Berube go back to being a solid bench coach, This team really isn't far off just need to insert the right line up. Time for a youth movement.
