Sixers might not win a game this year That's gotta be the plan for them... They're gonna be so flushed with young talent in a few years though... Noel and Embiid could be the new twin towers if health permits long careers for both.

Noel and Embiid could be the new twin towers if health permits long careers for both. i hope they tank and then lose the lottery as badly as they can. basketball is a big sport in this city between all the local colleges, the sixers history (dr j, iverson eras), just local interest in playing the game. it's a fucking shame that basketball fans here are pawned off such a piece of shit product and the management tries to act like they are actually trying. their intro/pump up video was hysterical too. they said something in it (i forget what) but it was something that translates to "we are tying to lose now so we are good later". i feel bad for the basketball heads in the area. the saddest part of it all, is what the sixers are doing is the way a team goes about rebuilding, and that's a reflection on the shit show the nba is. i remember last year, some guy bought a row of tickets to a game off stub hub for like 73 cents or some shit.

"It's the popular thing to do," Bryant said after the Los Angeles Lakers' shootaround in preparation for Friday's game against Nowitzki's Dallas Mavericks. "The player takes less, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I think it's a big coup for the owners to put players in situations where public perception puts pressure on them to take less money. Because if you don't, then you get criticized for it.
"It's absolutely brilliant, but I'm not going for it. I know the new head of the players association ain't going for it, either."
[…]
"This is where players get themselves in a lot of trouble, which me in my 19th year I really don't care, so I'll kind of say what I need to say," said Bryant, who indicated that he would retire at the end of this contract. "But I think you've got to look at the business of basketball. I think for a lot of writers, for a lot of fans, they have a very tough time distinguishing the two.
"This is a business, and you have to look at individuals and what they generate and the market that they're generating revenue in. And you can't separate those. People have a hard time separating that stuff. From a business perspective, you have to take that stuff into account and you have to try to, as a player, be in situations where it can be a win-win for everybody.
"So did I take a discount? Yeah. Did I take as big a discount as some of you fans would want me to? No. Is it a big enough discount to help us be a contender? Yeah. So what we try to do is be in a situation where they take care of the player and the player takes care of the organization enough to put us in a championship predicament eventually."

kobe great player massive faggot > Dr J, Moses Malone, Alan Practice Iverson, Wilt Chamberlain and any other player ever to put on a 76er uniform.
Yes, I said it, > Wilt. If Kobe had been as tall as Wilt, he would have broken every NBA record ever and would have won as many championships as Russell.

Thinking that a specific era of a specific thing will always be superior, is dinosaurian thinking. I'm basically a Republican, but I am also well aware that that is the most fundamental flaw of Republican philosophy.

I prefer the old school game, where physical play was allowed and a tactic to win wasn't fall down when a strong gust of wind blows by. Same with the NFL now vs the 80s/90s.its illegal to play defense now.

Saying an elite athlete of one era could not compete in a different era, assuming he could not adjust to the style of play at the time in that era, is complete and total dumbassery..

anybody see how Kobe is playing this season? like he just doesn't give a shit anymore, but he's playing like his old self. maybe he should've done this for the past couple of seasons and Los Angeles could've been pretty damn good

Too bad his contract is such an albatross around Kupchak's neck. Along with Jim Buss. Yeah. I really feel bad for them.

That's a bad mix.
