Abreu has had a much better offensive season and they both suck defensively. Kyle Seager and Josh Donaldson have a better argument than Altuve.

Altuvue for 3rd instead of Fat Abreu Nah. Abreu has had a much better offensive season and they both suck defensively. Kyle Seager and Josh Donaldson have a better argument than Altuve. Altuve having a monster year. He's a victim of being on a shit team.

He's a victim of being on a shit team. Yeah he is, but Abreu has a MLB leading 168 wRC+ Altuve is at 134. Plus like I said, they're both worthless defensively so Abreu gets the nod. Altuve should be in the top 10 or so though.

Similar to OPS+, Weighted Runs Created Plus (wRC+) measures how a player’s wRC compares with league average after controlling for park effects. League average for position players is 100, and every point above 100 is a percentage point above league average. For example, a 125 wRC+ means a player created 25% more runs than a league average hitter would have in the same number of plate appearances. Similarly, every point below 100 is a percentage point below league average, so a 80 wRC+ means a player created 20% fewer runs than league average.
wRC+ is park and league-adjusted, allowing one to to compare players who played in different years, parks, and leagues. Want to know how Ted Williams compares with Albert Pujols in terms of offensive abilities? This is your statistic. wRC+ is the most comprehensive rate statistic used to measure hitting performance because it takes into account the varying weights of each offensive action and then adjusts them for the park and league context in which they took place.

It's a blend of all offensive actions formulated to estimate the amount of runs these actions created, adjusted for league and park.

You at least have to establish some semblance of an all around baseball player. Not the guy with 3.1 ABs who's a fucking cheer leader when 8 other guys are playing defense (minus the pitcher). I was so happy Morneau won it that year, no one knew who he was.

Speaking of Altuve, where did Freddy Sanchez finish in the MVP in 06? Since I'm talking about Morneau.

Abreu, Trout, and Micheal Brantley have all had better overall offensive seasons, and like you said, he's half a baseball player. And yeah, Morneau deserved it. A DH should never win unless he just blows the rest of the competition away, and his team makes the postseason.
