Ya know what the NFL did wrong They started worrying about punishing guys to begin with. Its a lost cause and no matter what at some point youre gonna look bad. The NFL itself should have never started this shit. Let the law take care of things. That's exactly right. You suspend them for violating the league's PED policy. That's legit. The other stuff they stuck their nose in (including recreational drugs that are not PED crossovers) never should have happened. |

Goodell didnt become Commish until what 2006? Shit is totally diff under his iron fist most everyone I know thought 2 games for Rice was a joke...Goodell fucked up,cuz he sucks, now he's trying tosave face and it's blowing up in his face but it's the right thing to do this incompetent ass makes like 30 mil a year...supposedly to "protect the shield" they ought to fire his ass seriously i really think that only the one video was out, he admitted it, he got his slap on the wrist, the union refused to accept anything more than 2 games, but said "make a policy after this and we'll agree to it". so when this new video came out, goodell was like a shark on blood in the water. And again, I have to say that with the millions and millions of dollars that the NFL spends on security every year, if anyone really believes that Goodell did not see that video before he sentenced Rice, then you really need to re-engage with reality. |

It's all about the sponsors and their customers, Pickle. they dont care ... you know it, I know it, we all know it. none of them will ever dare leave the NFL Thing is, they have to pretend to care. Now-a-days, every time some group doesn't like something about a player, team etc., the first thing they do is call for a boycott of a sponsor's product. The sponsor then either pulls out or threatens to pull out if something isn't done before they lose millions. Eventually, things calm down and things return to business as usual again but that usually happens after a new rule/standard is put into place. |

Very true.......but I think maybe the NFL was trying to keep the not so elite Ray Rice on the field but couldn't once the full video became public. It's one thing to hear about a domestic violence incident. Same incident becomes worse when you actually see it. |
