and the NFL gives two shits about the Judicial system because why? Because they determine what is a punishable offense by what the laws of our land are. If they are going to punish players for breaking laws then they should equally judge players as our judicial system would judge them. Since when has the NFL really done that? They don't give two shits what the judicial systems thinks... they make their own rules and let's take Rice's case for instance... The Judicial System F'D UP ROYALLY to begin with... and he got a slap on the wrist BY THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM.. Do you honestly think he ONLY deserves a slap on the wrist?

and the American Judicial System gave him a slap on the wrist... The NFL ISN'T the American Justice System Did it? Do you know what the normal sentence is for a first time domestic violence charge on a person who otherwise has a clean criminal record?

and the American Judicial System gave him a slap on the wrist... The NFL ISN'T the American Justice System Did it? Do you know what the normal sentence is for a first time domestic violence charge on a person who otherwise has a clean criminal record? Most domestic violence charges can be charged as either a felony or a misdemeanor. A defendant charged with a felony can serve significant time in prison, whereas a defendant charged with a misdemeanor may serve only a short jail term or be required to pay a fine, attend counseling or be put on probation. Misdemeanor or felony? Whether a crime is a felony or a misdemeanor is determined by the seriousness of the crime and the relevant state laws. In many jurisdictions, acts that result in serious injuries are charged as felonies. Cases with no injury or slight injury are charged as misdemeanors. A prosecutor may consider prior violent acts by the defendant to determine the level of crime to charge. Misdemeanor penalties Sentencing for misdemeanor domestic violence convictions differs state to state. The penalties also depend on the specific facts of each case. The court will consider prior convictions, whether the abuser was on probation or parole, the local community's attitude toward the crime and any mitigating or aggravating circumstances. Some of the penalties that may attach to misdemeanor domestic violence include: Probation Mandatory treatment programs Short to moderate jail sentences Fines Restitution to the victim In many states, misdemeanor defendants may face up to a year in the county jail plus a significant fine for each charged offense, but judges may be more lenient for first time offenders. Felony sentencing Penalties for felony convictions are more serious than for misdemeanors, and vary greatly by state, by the severity of the crime and by the particular circumstances of each case. Generally, penalties range from shorter prison terms and moderate fines for less severe felonies to life sentences and large fines for more serious offenses. States with the death penalty may seek it in cases of domestic violence that result in death.

You're demanding a private business follow the rules imposed by the govmint? What if they want to follow a stricter standard? What happened to the free market? Are you some sort of pinko commie??

In most states it doesn't matter if a party presses charges. Most officers have to charge them but I don't know if that's in every state or not

The NFL did not have a policy/rule in place for Domestic Violence... They fucked up the first time and as a result changed it... Ray Rice was suspended. It was a done deal. Everyone moved on. He shouldn't have been re-sentenced to a stiffer penalty because the commissioner's office was over-run with bad publicity. So you were ok with only a 2 game suspension? Yet you use drugs and you get banned for life (yes I know he had multiple chances)

It's night and day. It's night and day of anything we've ever been through. And that's why both situations are totally different."

Hell, that New Orleans/Miami running back was busted seven times and he still got to come back to the NFL.

Leonard Little: manslaughter DWI in 1998 (killed two people while driving drunk). Allowed to return to the NFL after an 8-game suspension.
In 2004, Leonard Little convicted of drunk driving again. He was not suspended by the NFL, despite the fact that he had killed two people in a previous drunk driving escapade.
Moral to the story: the NFL thinks Ray Rice is a worse person than Leonard Little.

Why didn't Goodell use double jeopardy to pass down a second sentence on Little?

Ya know what the NFL did wrong They started worrying about punishing guys to begin with. Its a lost cause and no matter what at some point youre gonna look bad. The NFL itself should have never started this shit. Let the law take care of things. Most of these guys are animals, why do you care if they act like such off the field. It never helped or hurt the popularity of the league. Ever. If individual teams dont want to employ a guy more power to them. But the league shouldnt give a shit. The fucked the ray rice thing up. They fucked the big ben thing up. They fucked lots of things up. And guess what nobody cares either way. Vik is an afterthought. Big ben is an after thought. Chris henry. Pacman. Nobody cares after a week or two.

It doesn't matter whether I'm OK with it or not. That was the sentence. They gathered information and they passed their sentence. Passing a new suspension down because they failed to collect all of the available information the first time around is total bullshit. It is their mistake and Ray Rice shouldn't have to pay for it. He is literally being thrown under the bus in order for Goodell to save face. That's wrong. And the fact that Ray Rice is a wife beating asshole doesn't make it any less wrong.

so you refuse to answer the question? you are defending the guy because he was penalized than re-penalized and I asked were you ok with the initial punishment.. yet you don't answer that. Why is it so hard for you to answer a simple question? Yet you respond by making shit up about another player and the league when I asked you about this particular case only
