He's ok...105 wRC+ Scooter Gennett is the guy...123...just short of the required qualifying AB's though. Jose Abreu is really becoming the next great pure hitter in the majors.. Its amazing the Talent that his been hidden in Cuba.. And I continue to be oh so happy that I did my own scouting of him this spring. With foreign players, all us avg. Joe's have is some talking heads word on what they heard a guy can do, and, maybe some old bad video of him playing in 1 game. And, what sold me was not the fact that his homers were going farther than everyone else ( except one from Trout ). But, it was the fact that he was already hitting behind guys when the situation called for it that sealed it for me. As a fan, lucky for me that Cuba's gravy train of talent is running through L.A more than anywhere.

chris davis was doing that last year....but he died to death this year Abreu has much better Contact skills than Davis. Davis's BA has been getting killed because of the shift this year (and the fact he K's a bunch) .90 points is a fuckton....and people were shifting on him too last season...his strikeouts are high but not crazy higher than the last couple of yeas....bis babip is 100 points lower than the previous 2 seasons though....but his line drive % is up.

Yeah, he's just having a bad season, they shifted him before, just seems more noticeable this year. He's still drawing his walks, but the ball is just not jumping off his bat this year. Like he isn't finding his sweet spot..

Orioles are kicking butts and taking names without Chris Davis this year, though.

Is Cruz 1 for his last 32? Does the Pope shit in the woods? Maybe if he's hiking and nobody's around... I heard something in passing on the highlight show this morning before work and I swear it said Cruz was 1 for his last 30 or 32 or something along those lines.

One Hit since the 22nd of July My wife's birthday! Wow that sucks. That's a Bruceian slump. He was streaky before. Now, it does seem worse. And, I think it has to be due to Votto & Phillips being out, leaving him with a lot less protection in that lineup. That said, Todd Frazier has been doing his best, and then some, in making up for the otherwise lost production there. Him and Mesoroco both. But, it takes more that those two......

Stoned
Small pizza
Sox
Heard on the way home the sox may try and package cespedes to miami with some stud prospects for stanton. Cespedes in miami makes sense. Sounded reasonable for both sides.

At some point the Marlins have to stop being sellers and a breeding ground for players for other teams and build a team around a central guy and that guy has to be Stanton.. No? I don't think this ^^ will get it done.

If Votto and Bruce were healthy and/or producing at the level they have before and are paid to do now, the Reds would win the NL Central going away I believe. Bruce has been horrible. It's so maddening too. It's like he's the exact same player he was 4 years ago, swinging at the same crappy pitches, always getting himself out. I don't think he works terribly hard at improving. In fact he did an interview with Jeff Brantley earlier this year and said "baseball always came easy to me"... He usually goes on a tear for 3 weeks though where he pretty much carries the offense by himself. It would be really great if he decided to do that anytime now...while the playoffs are still in reach.

I think about 10-15 teams all have go ideas for sending players to get Stanton. They may have practically given away Miggy before, but the utter demand for Stanton has to be so high from so many teams, the Marlins can play the Market right and rape someone...

That is the 2nd metnion of this. Whoever posted it first metioned the deal would be mostly about $$, as Cespedes has the lower contract. My question would be, is that it? They want to maybe get better overall, but definately go cheaper? That sounds about right for Miami, but sounds all wrong as far as baseball, and the fans of the Marlins go. Now, if they think or thought that Cespedes will put more butts in the seats than Stanton due to being from Cuba, then that is another thing all together. BUT, I have yet to hear anything on that specific angle myself.

You should have heard of all the players the Patriots were on the verge of signing or trading for over the years.

And then perhaps even eat whatever extra money off this contract is necessary to make the Marlins want to play nice. It's all speculation. But when you are a fan of the Red Sox were in last place with a poop load of prospects and Giancarlo Stanton is just sitting out there... you play these games.

Thanks for bringing this around and summing this up for me. You and Rock both. And, no wonder I was missing something here. When it comes to baseball, I just don't play around.

I might be wrong about this, but the Colorado Rockies might be the only team in history to have every SP being left handed in the rotation.
