Jeter was asked by Dan Patrick what he wants to do after baseball.
Jeter: I'd like to own a baseball team
DP: Which one?
Jeter: Any of them
DP: The Red Sox?
Jeter: No

If Jeter owned a team, I wonder whether he'd allow his manager to bat a guy in a 4 for 75 slump second in the line up. . .

The Yankees are doomed for the next 2-3 years. You just fail to see it. Once they clear all those dead contracts off the books(Sabathia, Teixiera, Beltran, Arod) they will be relevant again. The Mets will contend starting next year. Thanks Kreskin You must have had the World Champs ticketed for 100 losses this season Nope. I actually thought they would be a wild card team this year. They underperformed my expectations. Mets win more games than the Yankees next year. You heard it here first. Add it to your spreadsheet.

They have a ton of flexibility with payroll and a lot of prospects to use in trades if they want. They also have 2 guys(Cespedes and Ortiz) that are better than anything the Yankees have in their lineup.

But that young pitching is the best around. They can find a couple bats. Just adding Nelson Cruz would fix a lot of their issues in a hurry.

The heart of your order in 2015 is Beltran, Teixeira, ARod and McCann. Enjoy! If that doesn't scream "also-ran", I don't know what does.

Finished 5 games out of a playoff spot with every single starter going down No , not celebrating that But no matter how shitty the lineup , and I guarantee you a huge SS and corner OF upgrade, the Yankees with a healthy staff are in the postseason this season Let that sink in Mr "Clay Bucholz is our Ace"

Hanley?? Beltran, Gardner and Ellsbury is your OF next year, so you are signing a full-time DH with ARod and Teixiria already on the roster? The only thing I like about the Yankees is that bullpen. Very solid. I'm hoping Nova and CC are healthy next year. That would be good news for everyone else. If Tanaka's elbow doesn't hold up, that team is fucked.

Because the Sox will have a full season of Cespedes and a lot of new pieces. Meanwhile the Yankees have the same shitty lineup they used this year. Make sense?
