Currreal,
Justin Masterson was kind enough to let the Indians know he had no intentions of resigning here. The Indians were kind enough to remind him that he was 4-6 with a 5.5 ERA and currently on the DL.
I liked Masterson an wish him well in StL, but the trade made sense for both sides.
Anytime you want to discuss the Wigwamers just let me know.

Thats the part we all gloss over He is an absolutely awful defensive player Basically, this guy as a package is in any conversation for worst everday player in baseball He should be thankful for guys like Jackie Bradley No doubt about it. Bogearts doesn't belong in MLB right now. And he well be the worst everyday player going this season. His atrocious offense is better than Zack Cozart, who is probably the worst everyday offensive player in baseball, but Cozart's WAR is higher overall because he's fantastic defensively...16.7 WAR. And last I checked, defense is a pretty important component for a middle infielder.

Indians and Rays traded away starters and are still battling their balls off, Indians one of the hottest teams going We call them the Anti-Sox Why cant you just embrace what is painfully obvious, instead of defending quitting? rays have the same record since the deadline as the Sox. "Battling their balls off". And if trading away Price, who was still under control next year, getting a weak return for him, isn't quitting, I don't know what is. But since it wasn't the Red Sox doing it, we'll pretend like it didn't happen. Sure, and Ill pretend the Sox and Rays work in the same financial stratosphere, and the Sox trading Lester falls in the same line of reasoning of why the Rays had to dump Price Although I do agree that the return on Price was dissapointing

Yeah but Masterson's 5+ ERA had to do with him not getting run support.

Here's what I know... The Yankees have no shot this year... None... And next year already looks pretty fucking bleak too... If we are being honest with ourselves, the Yankees are in desperate need of a retooling.... And that could have started now in what turned out to be a sellers market at the trading deadline... Well, for everyone but Tampa... If you're happy with a .500 record because it allows you to tell yourself "we didnt quit!" Well, good for you... You didn't do the 2015 Yankees any favors either... That's quite a lot of wishful thinking for a Tuesday Lets play a game called "guess how many extra base hits he Yankees #3 hitter, Ellsbury, has on the entire season...."

And Dirt, Bradley can't hit for shit, but he is the best defensive CFer in all of baseball this season.
That alone means he belongs.
Bogearts however does not. After a hot start at the plate, he's been gross.

Yeah - cuz they couldn't have gotten a similar return during the off season. Wow - you've become a Rays apologist to spite the Sox.

The Yankees stink....you know it as well as the rest of the non-Dirts do.... "Quitting is the new cool, because we do it in Boston" Quit their way to a parade a year ago...

Ox is right
This is really a new low
We have resorted here to defending a team that may have defended their title in the most embrassing fashion in the history of baseball, thats like 3 million years of history
And criticizing a team that has somehow scotch taped a roster together as the season has gone on, and sit one half game from a playoff spot
Glorious

They got back James Ramsey...a young(er) outfielder who allegedly has a little bit of pop, but I'd be lying if I said I knew a damn thing about him.
But you're right, Masterson is as night and day as they come and he wasn't staying here anyway.

Truth be told? Hey don't have much to trade other than Gardner or a reliever... You might have been able to fetch a B prospect for Beltran if the Yankees paid all of his remaining salary... Now Gardner is a hot commodity I miss the days he was an "Awful 4th OF" He's had a good year.. Yankees should have gotten a return for him before his correction happens in August and September...

I agree with Dirt, mostly because I'm blinded by his good looks, and slightly because the notion of giving up a season is ridiculous.

It just becomes a problem when they're all like that. A better lineup can absorb a nothing hitter like Bradley and be better off because of the plus D in CF.
