So being 1 game back of a playoff spot you should mail in the season? The fuck kind of shit is that. That's the mentality of a quitter. The absolute definition......Im ashamed to have to defend such implications

So if the Yankees had the red sox record, ellsbury's current slump would have transformed into Ellsbury quit on the team? If Ellsbury was garbage all season (see Pedroia) and was as big a reason as any player on the team for them being garbage (see Pedroia) and once the team officially tossed in the towel by trading away all the essential pieces, Ellsbury decided to go on a tear (see Pedroia), that would absolutely not be celebrated in NYC I called this, I said it a thousand times....."Once the Sox are virtually eliminated, Pedroia will go on a tear and all his fans will look back at the end of 2014, and say, Look he didnt have a bad season" And the Yankees dont have the Red Sox record (even though the Sox roster is better on paper) because they dont quit.......Think thats pretty apparent I know you don't understand the stat, but Pedroia's OPS has never dipped below .700 since May 2. I think many people without the Yankee bias or ignorance wouldn't mind that for a 2nd baseman.

Christ thats fucking stupid on so many levels. Or is it because it's only the Yankees doing it, so its bad?

So I can't compare Brantley until his 4th season in the majors? Okay we'll talk about JBJ and Bogaerts in 2016. Didnt i say First full season? You know like Boegarts and JBJ are absolutely NOW in their first full seasons Why compare apples and porch paint? Ahhh. So "full" season is what matters even though Brantley got regular ABs over 4 seasons and was 25 when got his first full season?

Sometimes you gotta fold a losing hand and get ready for the next reshuffle. Lets be honest, the Yankees ain't doing shit this October... Would have been wiser to start prepping for 2015 too... Thats about as much a Homer defense as you will ever hear "The Yankees should quit too" I told you, its not how this city rolls, on or off an athletic field of play Here's what I know... The Yankees have no shot this year... None... And next year already looks pretty fucking bleak too... If we are being honest with ourselves, the Yankees are in desperate need of a retooling.... And that could have started now in what turned out to be a sellers market at the trading deadline... Well, for everyone but Tampa... If you're happy with a .500 record because it allows you to tell yourself "we didnt quit!" Well, good for you... You didn't do the 2015 Yankees any favors either...

As much as you want to pretend that Bogaerts wasn't a huge part of Octobar 2013, it's not working... Everyone knows he wasnt Hit .300 with an OPS approaching 1,000.... Punch your own face...

Hey Pal, After the Yankees missed the postseason in 2008, what did you think of their chances for 2009? Pretty much exactly how you are feeling ^^^^^^ Up there

Hit .300 with an OPS approaching 1,000.... Punch your own face... LOL He hit .296 he had an OPS 107 points lower than .1000 He had 0 HR's and 2 RBIS' the entire postseason Yeah, Ill judge Boegarts more an entire season, which he seemingly gets worse by the day, than a "Decent" Week in the postseason, in which he could have been replaced by a Gorilla and the Sox would have still won the WS

Other teams that apparently mailed in the season (with better records than the Sox): Indians - traded starter and rays - traded one of the best pitchers in the game.
Wonder why we're not discussing them. . . .

Indians and Rays traded away starters and are still battling their balls off, Indians one of the hottest teams going We call them the Anti-Sox Why cant you just embrace what is painfully obvious, instead of defending quitting?

"Battling their balls off". And if trading away Price, who was still under control next year, getting a weak return for him, isn't quitting, I don't know what is. But since it wasn't the Red Sox doing it, we'll pretend like it didn't happen.

The absolute definition......Im ashamed to have to defend such implications "Why didn't the Yankees have a fire sale too?" Truth be told? Hey don't have much to trade other than Gardner or a reliever... You might have been able to fetch a B prospect for Beltran if the Yankees paid all of his remaining salary...
