Lets play a game called "guess how many extra base hits he Yankees #3 hitter, Ellsbury, has on the entire season...." Soooo the Yankees suck this year and will for the next 85 years because Ellsbury doesn't have enough XBH? More like "the Yankees and Red Sox have equal shots at the 2014 post season"

Ox is right This is really a new low We have resorted here to defending a team that may have defended their title in the most embrassing fashion in the history of baseball, thats like 3 million years of history And criticizing a team that has somehow scotch taped a roster together as the season has gone on, and sit one half game from a playoff spot Glorious When the dust settles on this season, the Red Sox will have more wins in August and September than the Yankees will.... well their off to a good start....... do you huff freon or something?

Bogaerts has a better WAR than Jean Segura (or as I call him fantasy baseball killer).

So he's worse than the 50 year old SS in the Bronx? Oh yeah. Jeter is -2.1 defensively...but still light years ahead of Bogearts and his -6.9

Between Bogaerts and the "50 year old" who does fangraphs say is better offensively? I know they both suck, but between the two who has the better O?

Edit: Jeter 85 wRC+ to Xander Trout's 84 wRC+ Hmmm. Fangraphs must factor in something to their offense numbers besides just runs created +.

Yeah but Boegarts doesnt have intangibles like Jeter. For isntance, having 3 other guys in the infield play out of position. That's a special kind of intangibles.

Obviously it's not, and it's why Fangraphs factors it in...and why Bogaerts has been the better overall offensive player this season. But Jeter is 40. Most 40 year olds are going to be liabilities on the bases.

I have figured out what Jeter's intangibles really are: mind control. "Wow Drew plays short much better than Jeter. . . . That's why we will put Drew at 2nd where he's never played before."

It may be counter-productive long term for the Sox to do it, but going strictly by his production level this season at the plate and in the field he is not a MLB caliber player...let alone an everyday starter.

When "Hes only 21" is the very best thing you could say about a player, you know where he belongs I mean Literally, you cannot say another positive thing about his game

Headley was playing first who was as nervous as Snoogins at Jenny Craig or Rock near a Drug Free School Zone. You don't see the selfishness yet?

If only there was someone else that could play second. . . hmmmm. . . maybe someone newly acquired from a team in the southwest. Someone who has logged many innings at various positions, including 2nd. Hmmmm if only the Yankees traded for someone like that.

Prado is the everyday 2nd basemen next season The part youre missing is Prado was brought in to play RF because Ichiro has been a huge liability as an everyday RF........
