Surprised to see Bum still in there.....and gets taken yard for the second time today by Turner. Shit. That probably did it. Bad call there by Bochy.

Must have been trying to do Bum a solid and stay in line for a chance to win or something.
Pretty weak "selfie" pics by Turner and Gonzalez after the homer. Hopefully they can make Jansen pay for it.

Damn. Didn't like Pence's swing vs. Kenley's stuff.
Hudson vs. Kershaw tomorrow is looking less than promising.
Congrats to your boys BigD.

Filo, you watching the game? This has been one hell of a series so far... Yes sir. It has been a great series. Bummed about last night, think Bochy managed with his heart, not his head letting Bum go out there for the 8th. Sorry, I was in BigD's baseball thread. I didn't see you were here last night.

We were not winning that game anyway, and it isn't like he is blocking the guy who will solve all of our ills.My expectations ar pretty low for Uggla, an I expect (hope?) his leash to be very short, so no worries from me on the Uggla-front yet. I am not too far away from wanting to see only Panik and EA a 2B for the rest of the season, though. Not there yet, but not far from there. I am SOOOO glad to have been wrong about that one. Panik has been a freakin god-send. Me too. I don't think anybody saw this coming.....even Panik himself. I was was dead wrong on Peavy too.

I wonder if Puig will get mad after a 80 mph curve hits him in the shoelaces again?

Well, at least they can't jump in the Giants pool.....or ocean.
So they got that going for them.....which is nice.

The Giants clinch a playoff spot with Mileaukee's loss. Feels so cheap and bittersweet.

Your Giants are starting to really piss me off Filo.
Last night was the 2nd time in a week that I was rooting for them to win. Both times they did, bot only AFTER I myself needed them to. I was all in fantasy wise with Petit last night. He was absolutely golden through 5 innings, and, I allowed myself to feel good about it. Then things came apart in the 6th, when he allowed 3 earned while only getting 1 out before being pulled. So, his game goes from fantastic to pedestrian, but, at least he was still in line for the W. I went to bed thinking good thoughts.
Then I wake up, and see they won. But, after checking the score, I saw the bad news for me.
Maybe the game on Saturday when Peavy is going again will bring me good things.
PS & BTW: Remember how I said and thought the Giants should shuffle their rotation, so that Bumgarner would be avail to start the wild card game? Turns out someone was listening, as that is exactly what they are doing.
My take, if playing away, still high hopes. If home, REALLY high hopes for them, dispite who they end up playing.

Sorry for leaving you hanging, Filo. I made the post, them meandered off.
Anyway, the series was a bust, so no harm, I guess.

Weird thing is.....if.....IF, they get past the Pirates (assuming), it's crazy to think that the Giants would have to rely on Peavy. He's been a BEAST. Gotta admit, never saw that coming.

If Pit wins today ans StL loses, they have to pay a 163. Last I saw, Pit is using Cole today and StL is using Wainwright. That means that if either wants to use them on Wed, they will be on 3-days rest, and pitchers today typically do not respond well to 3-days rest. while I am not counting any chicken embryos just yet, I like the Giants chances in this situation. Now, against the Expos...

Now, against the Expos... Yeah, I think I read a tweet from Schulman to expect Volquez if it's Pittsburgh. He's had a very good season, but not sure how he'll do in a playoff atmosphere. I remember him being kind of a head case. Lol, nice.

Do they have one more postseason of magic left? I'd at least love to get one more home playoff game this season.

I very much like the Giants chances guys. With Bum starting, they have a great chance at keeping the score low. And, the Pirates will be lacking a big bat in Pedro Alvarez, AND, will be dealing with an iffy catcher situation, as Martin was limping to the finish on a bad hammy, and his backup Chris Stewart got hurt himself in last nights game.
So, good luck to you and the Giants. May it last a week - 10 days,........, then stop.

Hopefully Bumgarner can draw on the Dodger game about being over amped early in the game.....
