lol, I know OregonDucks. I won't say his other SN just in case. Not sure if it'll work, but this is my last ditch effort. If I can get enough members back, I'll email an old, popular Giants poster gp956 as well.

Giants spoil Hammel's debut, beat A's 5-2SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- As awful as the San Francisco Giants have played for most of the last month, they are back in an enviable position: first place in the NL West. Beating their Bay Area rivals to get back there was a nice bonus, too. Hunter Pence homered and drove in two runs, Matt Cain tossed six strong innings and the Giants spoiled Jason Hammel's debut for Oakland with a 5-2 victory over the Athletics on Wednesday night. San Francisco, which had lost 20 of 27, moved percentage points ahead of the Dodgers in the division. ''If you look at how things have gone, you find that amazing,'' Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. ''It's all from the good work that happened earlier. We've got to get back on track.'' For one night, they did. Cain (2-7) allowed two runs and five hits for his first win since May 15 against Miami. He struck out four and walked two to help the Giants snap major league-leading Oakland's six-game winning streak. ''Felt really good,'' Cain said. ''Guys came up with some big, clutch hits when we needed them. Guys kept putting pressure on those guys, which is always nice.'' Santiago Casilla got three quick outs for his fourth save. Hammel, acquired by the A's along with fellow right-hander Jeff Samardzija from the Chicago Cubs last week for three top prospects, had anything but a clean opener with Oakland. He pitched with runners on base for most of the night, and his left thumb on his glove hand cramped up and looked disjointed at one point. He left after giving up six hits and three runs - two earned - in five innings, striking out three and walking three. Hammel said his thumb was fine afterward and he was bothered more by his performance. ''Tonight was a grind and they grinded me pretty good,'' he said. Stephen Vogt homered and Jed Lowrie had an RBI single for Oakland. The A's shut down the Giants 5-0 and 6-1 in the first two games of the Bay Bridge Series in Oakland and looked every bit like a team with the best record in baseball while doing it. Back in the comforts of glitzy AT&T Park, though, the Giants offense finally showed signs of life. San Francisco finished with 10 hits and took advantage of most of its scoring opportunities. With one out in the second inning, Yoenis Cespedes bobbled Joe Panik's single in left field for an error. By the time the strong-armed Cespedes corralled the ball and threw home, Gregor Blanco had crossed the plate. Buster Posey's RBI single gave the Giants a 2-0 lead in the third. Vogt homered leading off the fourth, sending a slider from Cain over the stands in right and onto the walkway outside the ballpark for his third long ball this season. Pence came back with his own long ball in the fourth to put the Giants up 3-1. It was Pence's 12th home run and first since June 21 at Arizona. ''It was a pretty clean game,'' Posey said. While the Giants finally got the bats going, Cain kept finding ways to minimize the A's rallies. The right-hander got Coco Crisp to ground out with two runners on in the fifth, which came after he misfired to second base on a potential double-play ball earlier in the inning. And after Lowrie's two-out single sliced San Francisco's lead to 3-2 in the sixth, Cain got Derek Norris to ground out, stranding two runners. Oakland got a brief scare in the fifth when Hammel's left thumb somehow bent awkwardly in the middle of Blanco's at-bat. An A's trainer worked on the thumb for several minutes, then the pitcher got Blanco to ground out. Pence hit an RBI single in the sixth before lefty Eric O'Flaherty's wild pitch helped the Giants score another run to go ahead 5-2. Oakland's offense was kept quiet the rest of the way. Jeremy Affeldt, Sergio Romo and Casilla each pitched one perfect inning of relief. NOTES: The Giants optioned OF Juan Perez to Triple-A Fresno after the game. INF Ehire Adrianza will be activated from the disabled list Thursday. ... Giants 2B Marco Scutaro, who has been out all season with a strained lower back, is scheduled to play nine innings for Fresno on Thursday before rejoining San Francisco on Friday or Saturday. ... Vogt extended his hitting streak to a career-high nine games. ... Left-hander Scott Kazmir (10-3, 2.53 ERA) starts for the A's against RHP Tim Hudson (7-5, 2.53 ERA) in Thursday's series finale. sports.yahoo.com/news/giants-spoil-hammels-debut-beat-052346364--mlb.html

Anyway, you watching/listening to this game? Bum is amazing. He should be our DH when we play in AL parks. I would think he has the Silver Slugger locked up. He already has 12 RBI this season.

Sorry man, just wanted to post with you guys again. Hopefully none of you get in trouble (not that any of you have done anything wrong) on my account. Not even mad at hammer anymore, I drew a line in the sand, I acted childish, I realize that. I Just had no way to get back in and at least say hello. I'll try and get Colin, Heath and gp here, but only if quite a bit of the group comes over. It's funny, the only person I ever had a problem with was hammer. Really liked Misko and respected Fordman.....apparently now those dudes hate me. So strange. Regardless, great to "see" you Cal. Btw, I tried posting on McCovey Chronicles for awhile, but it was too big/scattered for me. GUI was ok..... I don't even frequent MCC. That place is painful. i reg the Hoop, DrB and am attempting to add another board (I will not mention it here out of respect). GiantsBoard is a wasteland now and Giants.com looks like they Rpbustified in April. Ddo you have contact with GP, Colin and Heath? Why did they bail? Yeah, I think I had about 7 posts and then gave up at McC. Too scatterbrained for my liking. Ill have age to check those out. I have all three of their contact information. Haven't spoken to any of them except Colin since I left. No idea why Heath left. Gp said in a post awhile ago about the "reciprocity" stance he took.....Colin told me he wasn't all that happy with the boards direction (not because of any of the Giants posters) and that he was posting too much in general and needed to pay more attention to real life stuff. Even then, I haven't spoken to Colin in about 6-8 months. Just fyi, you find all three of their e-mail addresses if you're still a mod over there (I think). EDIT: you probably already know that tho, think you're in IT.

Dude, it's unreal. I missed both, lol, was watching the World Cup game to be honest. Saw the replays tho. It's been tough these last 6 weeks or so, but at least I've been in SoCal so I haven't watched the awful offense. I moved down to the Thousand Oaks area for work. bum can hit, of that there is no doubt.

Hypothetical Cal, if you're still online. How much would you be willing to give for Price/Zobrist? Yes, I know it ain't happening.

Price alone will require 2 top 50s, and Crick is borderline top 50. To get Z, I would need to know more about the Rays org to really give a good answer, but assuming they need a replacement 2B, I guess Panik would need to be involved. With the way Duffy is playing (and Tomlinson, for that matter), that may be OK. Z has a 7.5M team option for '15 to allow Duffy to play in Fresno (or Sacto, if that whole thing happens) to start the season. Basically, I think Panik and one of our 2nd tier pitchers (Blackburn, Hall, Osich, etc) prob gets that done.

Lol, bad news bears baseball for the Marlins. Salty throws it into LF and Belt scores when he should have been thrown out at 3rd. 2-1 good guys. Also, Dodgers lost 4-2.

Bad luck for Henderson Alvarez. Hopefully he's ok. Looks like it hit him in the calf (could have been the knee). He's out of the game, but I hope it was just a bad stinger.

Looking at Jennings.....his CS has gone up, not sure if it's lost speed, bad luck or bad decisions or SSS. Wouldn't want to give up much to add him as a throw in. Admittedly though, I haven't watched much of Jennings to know what his deal is or if playing at PacBell would help his hitting style or not (I.e. - gap to gap and use his speed).

Belt was hit in the head during warmups (not sure if that was pre game warmups or between inning warmups). It looks like a concussion. He may be put on the 7-day DL.
Going for he sweep today. Timmeh on he bump, but he does not do well, traditionally, in the heat. However it is hard to judge Timmeh on his past. This is not the same Timmeh. If he throws well today, it might be fair to start officially calling him Timmeh 3.0.

Yup. Hopefully Timmy has figured it all out, but it's still a little premature to say conclusively.
Good to see Buster get that two run double.
Hopefully Belt isn't out long. Concussions are always scary.

just stopping in to ask about Belt, noticed he's not in there today. Well Rotoworld finally told me something lol
Sun, Jul 20 Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that he's still awaiting concussion test results on Brandon Belt (head). Advice: Belt was hit in the face during batting practice Saturday and admitted Sunday that he wasn't feeling very well. The Giants won't make a roster move Sunday, but it's possible one could come prior to the beginning of the series against the Phillies on Monday. Reliever George Kontos is on standby in case a move needs to be made. Buster Posey is at first base Sunday. More: Henry Schulman on Twitter (Rotoworld.com) New Player Note Sat, Jul 19 Brandon Belt was hit in the face during batting practice Saturday. Advice: He ended up having to leave Saturday's game against the Marlins due to dizziness and is now undergoing a concussion test. The Giants will update Belt's status Sunday morning. Tyler Colvin replaced him at first base Saturday.

Duvall was called up, not Kontos. Colvin took his spot in the lineup, but he did not play 1B. Morse moved from left to 1B and Colvin played left.

Giants signed Uggla. AAA deal with an 8/1 out clause for Uggla. Nice, no-risk signing.
