Sorry once again Red.
MLB.com's Thomas Harding said Carlos Gonzalez' patella tendon damage "has increased slightly."
That development was discovered after CarGo visited Dr. Thomas Hackett on Wednesday. The outfielder, the team and doctors will meet Thursday to discuss what that might mean for Gonzalez' outlook the rest of the way, but it's obviously not good. At this point, the Rockies might be best-served to shut him down for the rest of the season in hopes of having him back and healthy for 2015.

Same Texas Rangers fan catches foul ball from same seat on consecutive nights couple nights ago the same fan caught both of Chris Carter's HRs I saw that as well. And, am not sure which feat it more impressive. I will guess it is this guy here, as I have heard of guys getting 2 balls in the same game. This guy got one 2 nights in a row, from the same seat. When you think you have seen it all, you are often reminded otherwise......

So, Tulo is done for the year, and CarGo is sitting at about 85% done. Lucky for Rockies fans, their season has been done before all of this.
That does make it better and easier, doesn't it?

The Braves are really struggling now, to be sure. However, I myself don't have one solid reason for this. As a .500 team now, they win at home just as much on the road. If the hitters are to blame, then it has to do with them not having one real solid skill set. They only have a few guys with pop, even fewer with base stealing speed, and they do not hit for a very high average. The problem then comes down to pitching. And, the main culprit is Mike Minor. He was couted on to have a much better year than he has. It is not all his fault, but, he seems to be the glaring red flag and easy target for their filure this year. The problems are, in order: 1. GM Frank Wren made some terrible decisions in giving BJ Upton and Uggla long term high salary guaranteed money contracts. Pitiful decision. Wren should get fired just for that alone. 2. Gonzalez is an idiot. He doesn't know when or how to play small ball, he doesn't know when to change pitchers and he can't make a lineup worth crap. When you are struggling to score runs you play small ball. For example, the Braves had a man on second with nobody out last night in the 8th. Instead of getting the guy to second with a bunt we ended up with a double play. He needs to get demoted down to the minors and if he doesn't want that, he needs to get fired second. 3. Get rid of BJ Upton. Do whatever it takes. Just get him out of Atlanta just like they did with Uggla. The guy sucks and they keep putting him out there every night? Please. 4. The pitching is fine and I have no problem with it. 5. All coaches except the pitching coach need to get fired, make the pitching coach interim manager until you find somebody else. SHOW THE FANS THAT YOU WANT TO WIN and get rid of all the slack. The attendance will keep going down until the Braves DO SOMETHING about this pitiful excuse for a MLB club. If they continue to do nothing more and more fans will turn them off and tune them out. Just like we did the Flames and the Thrashers. Injuries have taken its toll on this team too

My goodness. A lot can change for a guy, all within the same MLB season.
After clearing waivers, righty Ernesto Frieri has accepted an assignment to the Pirates’ Triple-A affiliate, Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports on Twitter. After starting the season as the Angels’ closer, Frieri was dealt to Pittsburgh and then designated for assignment when he failed to right the ship. Though other clubs might have been willing to take a chance on him, Frieri’s $3.8MM first-year arbitration salary no doubt scared off any claims. It seems all but certain at this point that Frieri will end up being non-tendered in the offseason.

Edwin Encarnacion completed his brief two-game rehab appearance with Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday night.
Encarnacion hit in the leadoff spot and played first base for the Bisons. He finished 1-for-4 and played all nine innings in the field.
Toronto has yet to make an official roster move but Encarnacion is expected to join the Blue Jays on Friday night in Chicago. That has been the stated plan since the beginning of the week and the final hurdle was cleared with his appearance at first base.
Encarnacion has been out since July 5 because of a strained right quadriceps muscle. He appeared in a total of four rehab games in the Minor Leagues and had three hits in 12 at-bats. The highlight came on Tuesday night when he hit a first-pitch grand slam for the Bisons.
"I want to try to get ready and serve my team so we can get to where we want to be, the playoffs," Encarnacion said after that game. "I feel great, I'm just trying to get my timing back. I just want to get ready here to get back to the big leagues with my team."

Rangers manager Ron Washington hates bringing in position players to pitch in blowout games. It may say something about the Rangers' season that he has now done it three times this year.
J.P. Arencibia was the latest position player to take the mound, pitching a scoreless ninth in the Rangers 10-1 loss to the Rays on Wednesday night.
"It's just been an experience," Washington said. "You take it on and you know for the most part it's not a normal deal. It has been a necessity."
Arencibia, throwing 69-73 miles per hour, started his inning by getting Matt Joyce on a foul popup. Logan Forsythe beat out an infield single but James Loney flied out to center and Sean Rodriguez flied out to left. Arencibia was done after just 10 pitches.
Arencibia, not wanting to make light of the Rangers' pitching plight, declined to discuss his outing, saying he was just doing what he could to help the team.
Mitch Moreland pitched a scoreless inning in a 12-1 loss to the Rockies on May 6 and Chris Gimenez did the same in a 15-6 loss to the Angels on July 10.
Arencibia was the second Rangers pitcher to make his Major League pitching debut. Alex Claudio retired all three hitters he faced in the eighth inning after getting called up from Triple-A Round Rock earlier in the day.
"Claudio did a heck of a job," Washington said. "He came in and threw strikes and got three quick outs."
The Rangers have now used 35 pitchers this season. That's two short of the Major League record held by the 2002 Padres. The Rangers are still hoping Derek Holland will pitch for them this season and they have a couple of potential September callups in Spencer Patton and Corey Knebel. Both were acquired in trades last month and currently pitching at Round Rock.

Jebus I'm 50 and can still throw harder than that lol Something that i've just had to accept, as too many players say it. Guys that throw far less than normal speed are hard for a lot of guys to hit. It's just too upsetting to their normal hitting timing. It's only those of us who don't face 100m.p.h heaters that could get knocks off guys like this.

Of course up 9 runs or whatever it was the hitters probably trying 100% either

Looks like it is going to be a good baseball day. At least, it's a good start.
Dee Gordon reached on bunt single to pitcher. Dee Gordon to third on Gerald Laird's throwing error. Yasiel Puig singled to center, Dee Gordon scored.

Sure. And, they should, as the Sox rotation needs a complete and total overhaul. Will they pony up the $$ to be high bidder on him? Who knows.
