Best defensive outfielder in baseball 20 hrs Longest hit streak in the bigs this year Just having a tough 2nd half and even tougher year vs lefties. And even though is average has dropped he is still putting up some power numbers. I think the consensus around here was if he hit to 50 with 10 home runs in a season he deserves the starting spot because he is such a great Fielder. He has had a great year by anybody's expectations. Yup I said.250 with 10 hrs or so would be a win. Next years interesting. That outfields packed with studs. Maybe the best young OF in mlb by this time next year.

In that lineup, this year? Yeah, they can hide how weak his bat has been for the last 100 games. But next year? We'll just have to wait and see. If they get someone solid to replace Ortiz then maybe that offense doesn't miss a beat. And if that is the case then they can afford to play JBJ everyday. But if the offense takes a step backwards they won't be able to carry JBJ's bat against lefties. Wait til you see yoann moncada... Bradley's odd. Hit.222 vs righties last year. 306 vs lefties. .791 vs righties .918 vs lefties Its flipped this year. Earlier you said he was improving against lefties. make up your mind.

Red Sox bullpen is going to give me a heart attack. Farrell's love for Abad and Zeigler are going to screw over this team

The Rays have fired hitting coach Derek Shelton, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
In turn, the club has promoted minor league hitting coordinator Chad Mottola to the position. Shelton was in his seventh season as Rays hitting coach. The Rays entered Tuesday's action ranked last in the AL in batting average (.243) and 12th in runs scored.
I wonder if that means that they will not be still having ads for his speed hitter training bat?

The curious case of Curtis Granderson continues.
Last year, he hit 26 homers, and drove in 70. Just now, he hit homer # 24 this year. And, just drove in run # 44.
Solo homer much?

It might be the only way he gets them. He could be Walt Weiss or Jeff Blauser for all I know. I'm not feeling him yet.

He's pretty good.
Dodgers rookie Corey Seager will play in his 162nd career game the next time he steps on the field. With almost a full season to his credit, he has delivered a .320 batting average, a .924 OPS, scored 110 runs, delivered 202 hits, and driven in 82 with 28 home runs and 46 doubles. Since his debut on Sept. 3 of last year, those 202 hits lead all NL hitters.

I hope I'm wrong about Swanson. I hope he turns into A-Rod. I just don't have this franchise feel for him right now. It could change. Right now, I see a .260 hitter batting 8th the next 5 years. And I thought he had better range.

The Red Sox offense really needs to step up it's game during the post season because they will face great pitching and it easily could be an early exit for them and holy hell did I see a bigddude sighting!!?!?!

Would welcome a bigddude sighting! I was just looking at the first page of this thread. It was 2014, David Price was still with the Rays, and BHR posted an article that speculated on where Price would be traded and what the return package would be. The prospects suggested in a trade to the Yankees were Luis Severino and Gary Sanchez.
Cashman does it again!
