Well things are going good for them now, but its only October. Wait until reality rolls around in November and December. Matter of fact, talk to me in March about who is favored to win the Cup because a lot can happen between now and then. |

Straight up I'd say the Pens win because they become better but the move was for cap space for Athanasiou so when he's finally on the team it makes the Wings better so I'd call it a wash. |

To absolutely no ones surprise the Pens have put Anti Neimi on waivers. In three games for the Pens he had a 7.5 GAA and save percentage of .797. Although no announcement of a replacement has been made, the Pens have two good goaltenders in Wilkes-Barre who could not possibly do worse.
I'm sure Otis is chuckling over this one.

Too many back-to-backs left (15 or 16) not to have a good back up goalie. They called up DeSmith. So far this year in three games, he has a .98 GAA with one shut out and a .965 Save percentage. Now, from what I understand, it is not easy for an AHL goalie to make the step up to the NHL. They say there is a different rhythm, we'll see. Like I said he can't be any worse. |
