Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots When: Sunday, Jan. 22, 6:40 p.m. ET Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Mass. Legacies on the line for Steelers, Patriots in AFC championship By Ed Bouchette / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette It does not get much bigger than this, two of the premier franchises in sports clashing for the right to play in the Super Bowl. The Steelers and New England Patriots have won 10 Super Bowl titles between them — one-fifth of the 50 that were played — six of the 16 in this century alone. They have family ownerships that are widely respected, two of the largest fan bases in the game and two of the best quarterbacks in the league. One of them gets the chance to continue that success, to enhance its legacy, to become the first franchise to play in nine Super Bowls, to make even more history. The other swallows the big, fat, bitter pill and goes home to be forgotten. So you got? www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2017/01/19/steelers-patriots-afc-championship-preview/stories/201701190059

"Big Ben vs Brady for AFC title. It’s been Big Ben, Brady, or Manning representing AFC in SB 13 of past 14 years now. Parity, right NFL?"

"Big Ben vs Brady for AFC title. It’s been Big Ben, Brady, or Manning representing AFC in SB 13 of past 14 years now. Parity, right NFL?" Yes and no. The NFL has more than leveled the playing field since 1990. Too many teams still are run by fucking morons and I ought to know. My local "branch office' has been run by them my entire life. And I am an old fuck. Parity does nor cure stupidity. Ask the poor wretches that live in "branch offices" Cleveland, Cincinnati, NY (AFC branch), Buffalo, Jacksonville, aaaaaaaaahhh. No need to continue I wasn't even through with the AFC... I think the point is made.

After losing 4 straight, pitt has run off 9 straight w's now. Told ya man This game was coming clear as day for awhile now. Gonna be a great one. Cause imo, and as ive been saying. They are the only AFC team that can go into NE and win Will they? Who knows, but this is the best matchup fans could ask for.

IOW the AFC has been a watered-down cupcake conference throughout Tom Brady's entire career. winning that weakass division is an easy first step and a guaranteed 1st round bye

They don't have the defense to come from a couple TDs down against this offense. I'm quite nervous about this game.

man I remember for some of the earlier Steelers/Pats play off games being as much of a nervous wreck as I've ever been as a fan..back then it was "Biltzburgh" and nasty D. Sleepness nights and shit lol And my earliest memories of watching football are those Steel Curtain teams. They were actually scary looking to 12 y/o Zigford
nothing but respect for that whole org from me, cant wait for this one

OK who are you and what have you done to Snow Guns? I keep it real... It's what I do. Not wild about all the injuries to the receivers. Amendola, Mitchell, Hogan, Bennett are all hobbled.

Bell is the concern. Chiefs apparently focused on stopping him for two weeks and couldn't do shit.

Pats ranked 4th in run dvao. Only gave up 6 TDs(1st) Not going to totally shut him down but they should be able to limit the damage and they can double Brown easily enough. Make Ben and other guys (that arent Bell/Brown) have to beat you.
I think the Pats can put up 30 so keep them under that and we should be fine.

I'm having a hard time being scared of the Steelers. Yep. Pats grade out very well vs the run and they are deep up front so they can deal with Bell all game and they have the guys to match up with Brown and the rest too...

In those nine regular-season games, dating back to the 2001 AFC Championship Game, here’s what Brady’s done against the Steelers:
238-for-342 (69.6 percent) 2,826 yards 24 touchdowns 3 interceptions 114.2 passer rating 8.26 yards per attempt And here’s how that looks when broken down on a per-game scale:
26-for-38 (69.6 percent) 314 yards 2.67 touchdowns 0.34 interceptions The Steelers haven’t intercepted Brady since 2005. Since then, Brady has thrown 19 touchdowns vs. Pittsburgh.

I expect New England to hold Pittsburgh under 20 points this weekend. I think the Steelers offense is overrated. They've been up and down, inconsistent. Four regular season games under 20, three of those on the road. Last week - another road game - they clearly couldn't finish a drive and were fortunate to have their defense bail them out. Roethlisberger did not look sharp last week. I don't see how any of that improves playing in Foxborough, playing against a team that already held them to 16 points in Pittsburgh earlier this year (aka the Steelers offense's worst home performance). As long as Tom Brady plays like regular season Tom Brady and not that beta bitch who showed up vs Houston last week, it's gonna be a fucking route. Im with ya on all accounts
