Dirk is not top 10. He is not getting pushed out of top 10, he was never top 10. I wont even pretend to know if he is or not ... i dont follow enough but he was one of the best I have ever seen. not being top 10 isnt a big deal Well yeah, he's top 10 in that generation, sure fire HOF. Not all time.

for fucks sake i didnt say DIRK was pushed out of the top 10, i said guys get pushed out all the time in every sport. gordie how was the best hockey player of all time for decades. unitas was the best QB., etc. i said IMO, dirk is a top 10 player...on the edge of that list. What older player are you pushing out? no idea. i havent made a list. probably someone in knee pads with a belt.

Dirk is a compiler. Does that help him or hurt him? There are no rules for the list. In their prime, I'd take Duncan and KG over Dirk.....just to stick with 4s of that generation.

1. Jordan 2. Lebron 3. Duncan 4. Kobe 5. Dream 6. Shaq (not ordered)
Those are all slam dunks I've seen better than Dirk. I'd probably put him 7
So were gonna say that there are 4 spots left all time. Is Dirk better than 4 of these?

Well just because I don't think he's top 10 all time doesn't mean I think he sucks. He was very influential on the game and will be a 1st ballot HOF player. (I assume, no idea how tick tacky the basketball HOF is)

Id take Dirk over KG all day ... KG never did shit without 2 other HOF'ers KG's biggest fault was staying loyal to Minnesota for so long. He was in a stacked west on an awful franchise.

Your original post said nothing about 7 footers. You said 'big men'. Again, Bird was considered a big in his era and redefined a big man's usage long before Dirk did.

That is in no way meant to be a knock-on dirk either. He was a fantastic player. But outside of the one-year his team never really contended for championships. There is just so much Elite Talent throughout the history of the league that numbers just aren't enough. You have to have the hardware on your fingers. Paul pierce "top 30 ever" Dirk "gotta have the hardware" Both with one title.

Is Westbrook back to being the MVP with you fickle fucks? It's a 4 man race. If the Spurs get the 1 seed, I think Leonard gets it. Big game for Westbrook last night though.

I remember back in November I was the idiot for thinking he could be able to sustain averaging a triple double all season. Because his usage rate is historic. "He won't make it past 20 games you idiot".

I think he does it. And he's got some guys who can shoot a little to help inlfate the assist category. And the guy is just all over the court so he's able to have a rebound fall into his lap.

I never saw most of them play And Im a firm believer that modern day players with modern day rules would destroy the old turds of yesteryear Modern day players with modern rules? Sure, but the modern rules give them a huge advantage. That's what makes it so hard to compare players from different era.
You could just as easily say that today's players against 1970s players, with sports science knowledge and nutrition knowledge of the 70s, playing with the rules enforced in the 70s, would get their asses kicked.
This is a point that has never been made to my knowledge. And a really good point, too.

The pickup of McDermott should help...I don't even see his assists as being inflated, he handles the ball so much for that team so it's likely he'll be the guy passing the ball before a shot is taken.
