CJ -92 in Calgary is a good FM Rock Station , i wish they would play more new rock , even more new rock from the artists of the past. Van Halen , Aerosmith , AC/DC all have newer albums than the 3 or 4 of each band that they continuously draw songs from. Our local classic rock station, one time several years ago, came back from commercial break with two words: "Instant Classic!", and played Ozzie's "I Don't Wanna Stop". It was, of course, badass, and I thought it would be awesome to have new music interspersed with the classics. It was not to be. That is the only time that has ever happened while I was in earshot. Either they cancelled the notion, or are still waiting for another "instant classic" to happen along.

I challenge anyone to really listen to this song without it completely reducing them to a sobbing, blithering fool. Background: Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's

love Uncle Neil too. I could do a pretty good impersonation of him in my younger days. Ole neil is persona non grata around these parts- hypocritical turd that he is. Flies around in his jet and drops in twice a year to bitch about how we get our oil.

Speaking of uncle neil, he was a big fan of these guys. When I went to see him on the Rust Never Sleeps tour, they played this album on loop while everyone was entering the arena and settling into their seats. Probably heard it three times that evening. We musta been mighty early arriving there. I recall pondering the music, and thinking it an odd choice for the pre-concert, since they were so different than Neil. Never occured to me that he might have chosen it.

After I heard the song at the oscars and then watched this video, I composed myself, and watched some stuff on youtube, like Behind the Music and 60 minutes. Going to be a slow, tragic decline, but what a helluva life he had, and he really could have taken his music in any direction and succeeded, he was that good.

40 years ago this past week... "Physical Graffiti" came out. My buddy had a room where his dad (a pretty damn good steel guitarist) and his band rehearsed. Had me come over to listen to the new Led Zeppelin album. When I got there, he had his turntable hooked up to his dad's PA system. We burned one, then put on Side 1. After "In My Time Of Dying"... I just looked at my buddy and said "Holy Shit!"
We burned another then went to Side 2. Then Side 3. Then Side 4.
A truly great, GREAT, GREAT album.

I saw him and Crazy Horse on the "Ragged Glory" tour... at old Reunion Arena in a half-arena configuration. Opening acts were Social Distortion and Sonic Youth. I had no idea who they were. But there was a massive crowd on the floor who did and they were into it and I came away understanding they had "something". Then Neil and the boys came out, played 13 songs in a 2 1/2 hour show (including "Cinnamon Girl" which lasted 2 minutes) in one of the best shows I've ever seen... and definitely the loudest (even louder than Metallica).

When i saw theother day that they releases PG to the free sites, I smiled. Hopefully a new generation of fans will emerge. Too bad they don't have the album cover to play with while they listen.

Yes. LOUD. He played the first half the show i went to acoustic. There were these giant wrapped presents on the stage behind him. Took an intermission, and when he came back out, the presents were now giant amps (not real!) and he blew the roof off that fucker.

Saw a poster once, with a picture of Lennon, so i have always attributed this to him, but it said "Either you grow with the music, or the music outgrows you". Neil Young has truly lived that way.

Actually I'm just flying in there..then driving up to Yreka Too bad. Maybe stop and pee in Lake Shasta. They could use the water. Damn....I could drink a case of beer in one night and still wouldn't dent that lake....looks like it is about 30 feet down from normal...but I did try. Did you know that there are backroads around I-5 where you can lose the CHP? Of course I think the rental will need new shocks.....
