i was listening to Rod Stewart the Footloose and Fancy Free cd last eve while working on the deck. Fricken awesome album......serious will power needed to NOT grab a beer or 9 and get my groove on

My first ex-wife loved it and played it incessantly. I didn't like it that much to begin with, and she seriously burned me the fuck out on it. Now, Every Picture Tells a Story, that is one of my favorite LPs of all time. I also think he became a pretty decent crooner/balladier in later years. |

When I was in college in Portales, NM there were two truck-stop restaurants...one for the college kids and one for the "cowboys". One night they were having a dance and the college Truck Stop was busy, so we thought we could sneak in and eat at the Cowboy one. We (there were 6 of us) had just ordered when about 30-40 came in. They saw us (with our long hair and such)...couple of guys went to the Men's Room and just waited...one played this song on the juke box. The waitress (who I hope has gone to heaven because she saved our butts that night) did not serve our food until the police she had called came in. They sat at the counter eating pie and drinking coffee while we ate. Once we were thru, they escorted us out of the place to our cars.
Interesting times.....

I was mid 20's , the sound was great , and they played all the songs you hoped for , but stage presence #NOT , the only exciting thing that happened was a really really drunk girl falling down the stairs  |
