If the Rangers win, credit is pretty much due mostly to Henrik Lundqvist, who they'd have never made it this far without. I'll take a hot goaltender over a far superior team every time..... if the rangers win, henrik should be the first to touch the cup. if it was henrik on any team other than the rangers, devils, or penguins, i would be rooting for him so hard. Devils fans used to say the same thing about Mike Richter.

I love how there is so much but hurt going on right now because people who thought the Rangers would win last series think they are going to lose this one. For the record I would have picked the Kings as the favorite even if they were going against one of the two real teams in the East the Bruins or the Penguins. The fact that they are playing a team that is barely top 5 in the east? That just makes this a slam dunk. bad news kings would demolish the penguins. montreal and boston would give them a run for their money and maybe beat them. anyone else, wouldnt.

Where are they superior? They have deeper forwards, but the Rangers have a top shutdown defense and goalie. Have you seen the goalies LA faced so far? The Rangers already beat Pitt, who was considered a better offensive team than LA. The Rangers also faced 3 top 7 PP units, and sent them all home. Am I guaranteeing victory? Hell no.. but this will be no walk in the park for LA dude i typically respect your hockey input. now? it's in the toilet. look at pitt's forwards. they were considered better offensively, but thats based off sid. kings are better in every facet except defense, maybe, and i would be willing to call that a draw. I simply believe the Rangers have the defense and goalie to shut down (not completely) anyone in the league.. Proof shown by Crosby/Malkin in round 2. The combo of that defense, specifically McDonagh and Girardi, and Lundqvist is going to give LA fits

not bad for a team that isn't even top 5 in the east.

I agree, Crosby has not impressed in the playoffs. But they were able to limit Pitt, especially on the powerplay Giroux was MIA in the first round with McD glued to him. The big matchup will be McD/Girardi vs. the Kopitar line. Slowing them down will be huge.

As usual for the Rangers, it's going to come down to PP and PK. Shouldn't be many even strength goals by either team in this series. Gotta hope Rick Nash has one of his hot streaks now.

Sports bet FAIL!
New York governor Andrew Cuomo and California governor Jerry Brown have made the worst politician bet on the Stanley Cup Finals sports history. If the Kings win the series, Cuomo will cough up pastries, wine and a variety of seafood. Fine. However, if the Rangers win the Cup, Brown will pay up with rice cakes.

im not going to lie, rangers are top 5 at best. however they are on a hot run right now, and thats 90% of the playoffs.

When they won the east, they called over all 3 A's well, they "give" it to the captain, but typically the captain can choose who is the first to lift it over their head.

I'm sure if they wind up winning, and one of the A's gets called up they will hand it over to Henrik. Everyone knows it's his team. Will be a really good story for Moore too if they pull this off

Will be a really good story for Moore too if they pull this off Apparently, the last time there wasn't a captain for a Cup winning team was in 1972 when the Bruins won. Indeed, practically every team that has won the Cup since it was first donated by Lord Stanley of Preston in 1893 was led by a captain or co-captains.
Among the exceptions were the 1970 and 1972 Boston Bruins, who were led by Phil Esposito, Bobby Orr and Johnny Bucyk but had no official captain. When the Cup was awarded in those years, it was handed to Bucyk, who wore an A and was the longest-serving Bruin.

Like when Forsberg immediately handed it off to Ray Bork....

Fack is it 8:00 yet?!
"This was the fifth straight year that Henrik Lundqvist posted a save percentage higher than 92 percent, and his save percentage has been higher than Jonathan Quick’s in every year of Quick’s career."

Kings in 6 is a respectable pick, IMO I think either way this one is going 6 or 7 if henrik plays like henrik, kings in 6. if he has a game where he just doesnt have it, kings in 5. all seriousness this reminds me of the flyers vs blackhawks in 2010 SO much. flyers felt like they were just destined to win and dug out gritty games while the hawks were heavy favorites. flyers put up a fight, but chicago was just too much.
