So you admit that your belief in the origin of existence is based on a theory that requires an unexplained natural phenomenum. that, as history shows..will one day be revealed...by science we didnt know dark matter existed until not too long ago Dark Matter has been around for a long time, it's in response to some holes in relativity...They still don't "know"...there was a segment of the presentation on Dark matter at that event I mentioned... The math says it should be there...as we can't account for upwards of 95% of the mass of the universe in order for gravity to exist as we observe it...but we've never observed it...and right now they simply theorize it exists. They are attempting to detect it though...

And the deepest philosophical question... Why? The answers are all theoretical, and physicists have a hard time explaining how the entire universe on a macro scale is expanding, everything is moving away from everything else...however, at smaller scales, everything is attracting... which, at the rate science is explaining things..will be revealed maybe within our liftetimes remember man, 200 years ago we had no lightbulbs, cars, internet, etc and how old is this planet? we're on the fast track to knowledge they're no closer today than Einstein was 80 years ago...

Of course I do. And we don't have to fight about it. You've made a definitive statement that the Bible is entirely allegorical. Based on, what? Are there no Jewish people in the world? The synagogues, the temple in Jerusalem, the circumcision, the dietary laws, the whole Exodus thingy...none of that stuff actually happened? It's all mentioned in the Bible. You're saying Pete's actually a myth? So, we could possibly revise that statement to say, "Rock believes most of the Bible to be allegorical," and I would have no further comment on that. I really don't know if Jonah was swallowed by a shark or not, or if Russell Crowe herded a bunch of animals on a boat, but the stories teach me something important about who I am and who God is. Some of those stories can be allegory, and at the same time Jesus can be a real historical figure. Works for me. based on things like you just said about wheat and voices...its not wheat, its gods people...and the shephards voice is the voice of god, not an actual shephard. thats allegory jesus was a real person who existed...but he had syphillis from having sex with prostitutes..as disease, primarily STD's, were beyond rampant in the time of jesus. this disease, or whatever he suffered from, caused him to have halucinations...visions...of god, hear voices, etc. people, being naive at the time and searching for answers, followed this mans sypillis riddled statements and beliefs...hard to blame the people back then, they shit in the streets. also, did you know the ark...the big massive ark...the unit of measure the bible uses for that (i forget the term) is the equivalent of the length of your hand to your elbow...and the ark, was 3 of these units of measure i believe. If syphillis was common place at that time, then people suffering from syphillis-related hallicinations would have also been common place and therefore someone suffering from said hallucinations would be recognized as such by the general populance, causing people to turn away from him rather than follow him. In other words, your theory contradicts itself.

"Satan "struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head" (Job 2:7). Jesus said of the woman who was bent over and could not straighten herself, that satan had bound her for eighteen years (Luke 13:11-16). Paul describes his thorn in the flesh as 'a messenger of satan' (2 Corinthians 12:7). These afflictions did not result from the sin of the person in question but from satan's activity. God allowed Job to be tested by sickness so the genuineness of his righteousness could be demonstrated. He did not remove Paul's thorn in the flesh so the power of His grace would be revealed."

It has long been believed that Egyptians used wooden sleds to haul the stone, but until now it hasn’t been entirely understood how they overcame the problem of friction. It amounts to nothing more, scientists say, than a “clever trick.” They likely wet the sand. ”For the construction of the pyramids, the ancient Egyptians had to transport heavy blocks of stone and large statues across the desert,” the university said. “The Egyptians therefore placed the heavy objects on a sledge that workers pulled over the sand. Research … revealed that the Egyptians probably made the desert sand in front of the sledge wet.” It has to do with physics. The sort of sledges the Egyptians used to transport the two-ton loads of stone were pretty rudimentary. They were wooden planks with upturned edges. Dragging something that heavy through hot sand would — unsurprisingly — dig into the grains, creating a sand berm that would make progress nearly impossible. It “was perhaps observed by the Egyptians that in dry case, a heap of sand forms in front of the sled before it can really start to move,” says the study, authored by a team of eight researchers led by Daniel Bonn.

Species of plants and animals are becoming extinct at least 1,000 times faster than they did before humans arrived on the scene, and the world is on the brink of a sixth great extinction, a new study says. The study looks at past and present rates of extinction and finds a lower rate in the past than scientists had thought. Species are now disappearing from Earth about 10 times faster than biologists had believed, said study lead author noted biologist Stuart Pimm of Duke University. “We are on the verge of the sixth extinction,” Pimm said from research at the Dry Tortugas. “Whether we avoid it or not will depend on our actions.” Pimm, expanding on his opinion offered up an unusual prediction about the probable next species to become extinct. "It's Yankee fans, no question about. They've only been in existence since 1996 and watch what happens in November, later this year. Science, bitch"

Sorry, liberalism is truly a mental disease...and I get really frustrated by those with such a weak grasp of basic economics.... up is never down wet is never dry and more federal government spending is never a good thing 3 absolute truths... yes because it was Liberal government that started an unfunded war with a country that did not attack us on 911. actually, a congress with a liberal majority voted for it by 99% majority

"Bush was a liberal" In practice, he was as a progressive liberal. Measure his words he certainly sounded like a conservative...but actions speak louder. NCLB, Homeland Security, among others are examples of progressive liberalism, in short, dramatic expansion of the reach and scope of the federal government. Both of those are antithetical to core conservative beliefs. Bush talked a good game with his faith base policies, he did so to drum up the bible belt support. Lying is what politicians do...

That was approx 17,000 years ago if the dating is accurate...
