It sure seems that way, for whatever reason that may be. It just strikes me odd in a way, because in my many years on several message boards, I deal with mostly baseball fans, and some football fans, but rarely do I deal with big hockey fans.

I rolled into Fan Nation because I was looking for a place to post my tepid Cowboys opinions back in 2009. Had some good mentors back then (RIP Cowboy Dave) and started branching out. As a die hard Stars fan, I poked my head into the hockey threads from time to time. Met Canuck through a shared interest in a certain band from Rainbow Valley and found my way into the like-minded businessmen who for some strange reason found a Texas hockey fan amusing enough to keep me around. I am a Texas Rangers fan who had the privilege (and a little disposable income) of taking my grandsons to Game 4 of the 2010 World Series. Bucket list item that the boys still talk about to this day. They even remember that Madison Bumgarner dominated our heroes that night. Was crushed in 2011 and hope they can piece together a starting rotation that can compete this year. After running through 40+ pitchers last year - it can't possibly get worse. Love the Mavs too... as crushed as I was with the Rangers that year, the Mavs made up for it with that unexpected run. Dirk is my man crush. Dude has been a pleasure to watch over the last 15 years and makes it easy to enjoy the NBA. But - I'm a diehard Cowboys fan til I croak... And even afterward. Already paid for the box when I go on to the next plain. It's silver and metallic blue. |
