Sounds to me like you have a situation..... One that can be fairly easily cured though. Use your glut at 3B to solve your SB problem. I would dangle both Carpenter and Machado, or at least make it know to your league that they are avail. To cause the least amt of roster upset, also put out that you are only interested in 1 for 1 trades, and are looking for stolen bags.
A Machado fan might see hope and promise ( as do I ), with Carpenter though being the more safe and stead bet, as you kind of now know what to expect from him.
No need to rush anything though, as speed guys are like closers, they can come out of nowhere, and, can be had on the relative cheap soon after they start showing their worth.

Adjust your drafting of him and closers accordingly.
Koji Uehara (hamstring) expects to be ready for Opening Day, but conceded Wednesday that it could be a "close call."
Uehara strained his left hamstring Tuesday and Red Sox manager John Farrell said Wednesday morning that he won't get back on the mound until "he can tolerate the stress" with his hamstring. He likely won't need many games to be ready for the season, but the situation is worth watching.

I'll take your bait Mr. D, these are the top 20 or so guys available, i pick 2nd...thoughts? Those are my keepers on the right so you can see what I'm starting with. And have Addison Russell and Corey Seager as my minor leaguers.

Well the kid I am thinking of trading with, that has Bham....is a huge Cardinal fan, so Carp possibly gets that deal done...but as you said......no real need to rush things.

Also how many N/As can you have?......one prospect to keep an eye on is Jesse Winker.

Its 12 teams. Gray is in purple because I marked him as a "sleeper" in the rotowire app, i just did that for all the guys I wanna keep tabs on. Pretty much gonna use that during my draft. I think Wainwright is gonna go #1

And because of many many trades in the offseason, I have 11 picks in the first 6 rounds, 18 of my 19 picks in the first 11 rounds. So I should be immune to missing out on any sort of closer run. I may go for Gray and then see if one of the top closers is still there for me in the 2nd round.

If you want me to, I can check and give some feedback in a few hours, when I get home.

With this being a keeper league, I would let Mr. # 1 take Wainwright first. Of the 22 names I see from printing out your add on, I would take Gray if he in fact does not go # 1. From there, I would rate the rest as Lucroy, Robertson, Ozuna, and Calhoun.

Yeah, a lot of the hitters there seem fairly even to me, and with only Cueto on my actual team, adding another starter probably makes the most sense. I think as long as Gray doesn't go #1, I'll probably grab him. Guy with the #1 pick is trying to trade it. So he's obviously not sure what he wants to do and hoping someone is fixated on someone they don't think will fall to them.

Just too much injury risk there for me. I was about to go that way on Fielder too, but last year was his first injury at all, so i'll cut him some slack. As such, I would remove Martinez, and go a bit deeper with Zach Walters instead. Other than that, I like your picks.
And, of this list, I think it is safe to remove Kuroda, as I don't think he is ever coming back.....

hmm, zach walters. interesting. i traded for him late last year thinking he might be a cheap keeper at SS Now I see him listed at DH and is out 3-4 weeks with a strained oblique. Would you still keep him knowing that or did you already take that into consideration?

If you need production from that roster spot for sure this year, then, I would skip him, and go for Brad Miller instead.

According to Marc Carig of Newsday, Zack Wheeler also has a torn tendon in his right elbow.
It's what prompted the Mets to give him platelet-rich plasma treatment over the offseason. The hope was that Wheeler would be able to pitch through it with rest and rehab, but everything obviously changed when the right-hander tore his ulnar collateral ligament this spring. He is expected to undergo season-ending Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.

If anyone wrote this guy off already, it may be time to re-think the assessment.
Michael Saunders (knee) went 1-for-5 in a minor league game Thursday in Blue Jays camp.
Saunders told reporters after the game that he didn't feel a thing in his left knee, which needed surgery in late February. The initial timetable for his recovery was several months, but the procedure didn't have to be as invasive as originally expected and there's now talk of him being ready for Opening Day. Saunders carries fantasy sleeper potential into the 2015 season.

Rusney Castillo (oblique) could make his Grapefruit League debut Saturday.
Castillo has missed most of the month with an oblique strain, but he played in minor league games on Wednesday and Thursday without incident. Red Sox manager John Farrell plans to give him playing time in center field and right field once he's ready for Grapefruit League action. He'll only have a brief window to push Mookie Betts for the starting center field job.

Matt Wieters was shut down with elbow tendinitis after catching on Tuesday. It was his first action behind the plate since he had Tommy John surgery, so he was sent for X-rays as a precautionary measure. Good news: they came back clean.
He’s still shut down from catching for the next week, and it’s unclear if he’ll be ready by Opening Day.

That said, I do see 3 guys that I would keep and eye on, and keep on a short leash to dump should they struggle early. The would be Segura at SS (who I saw today, and hoped to see hit hitting), and Sp's Cain & Kennedy. Segura would be a killer for you, as there just aren't that many quality SS out there (That will change in the next feew years, but does nothing for you now). Nothing to worry or panic about, just 3 guys to watch out for.

Sometimes you lose the Wi-Fi, and keep having to type the same stuff over and over again. As such, the abridged version this time. Your team is good, with 3 guys to watch for signs of early struggle, to then be able to dump off for same or better. Segura, Cain & Kennedy.

SS is a wasteland. And I have Addison Russell and Corey Seager as my 2 prospects, so hoping Segura can just be ok until then. And there is so much pitching available, it was just like throwing darts at a board so plenty of quality pitching out there. Early on, I'll probably spot start everyone but Cueto, Gray, Fister & Ventura early on(I thin of those 4 as my top guys) and see what kinda start guys get off to. Not really overly worried about my hitting, especially if Fielder is back to himself.
