Kind of ok with him. Another defensive mind. Experienced.
Anxious to hear who he will hire as OC and DC.

I'm much more hoping for a good OC, one who doesn't believe in running the halfback into the guard's butt every time it's 2nd and long. That would be nice.

Won't point out Gruden was his 1st choice and he woulda jumped at Harbaugfh if Jimmy had of given him a chance to. Their most important move right now is to improve their depth across the roster. Having great X's and O's guys means nothing when you don't have the personnel to pull it off. Seattle went thru hundreds of players each off season till they got better depth Jax is doing the same right now. It is the way to move ahead as the back of your roster gets better Your team will too

Anyways, I was meaning from the time that the interviews started. Gruden was already out. Harbaugh gave MD the courtesy to make a pitch even though he already had his plane ticket to Detroit in his hands. Of all the candidates who interviewed after that, never really thought any of them had a shot except either JDR or Sparano.

Mike Tice was picked up to replace Sparano as OL coach. He wanted to be with the Raiders and convinced the Falcons to let him go.
Great hire. Excited to see the rest of the staff develop.

That means we're sticking with the power run scheme. Now just need some RB's who aren't over the hill and overpaid to go along with Murray.

I know you won't like this, but I think they stick with DMC and MJD. Murray starts but they 'compliment'... Not sure how I feel about that but I think that's what's going to happen.

Not unless MJD gives back the salary he stole from this year. DMC I don't hate, but he really doesn't make anybody miss anymore. It has to be time to move on. Then again, if we get an OC who doesn't believe "Hey run straight up the middle. It hasn't worked all day but maybe this time..." and I could buy in a little more. Need to pick up something in the draft to compliment.

I love Murray's vision - the way he'd hit the hole was impressive and I really want to see more of that explosiveness! And it's not like they were huge holes either - just enough room. So with the first pick... Williams or Cooper?

After spending $100 on a MJD jersey for my grandson, I hope he has a monster season LIHI. And - I hope the GM gets JDR some damn players. The AFC West is going to be there for the taking in another year. The Raiders need to be in position to take advantage.

Looks like most of the assistants are getting firmed up. Sure wonder who the DC is going to be. That's the big question out there. Thought we'd see the answer by yesterday. If Mike Smith doesn't want the job, and Denver snatches up Wade Phillips, pickins are going to get really slim.

I read yesterday that Del Rio said if he gets a DC from the college ranks he'll call the defensive plays. If he pulls his DC from college, Raider fans may go insane. Yesterday was hilarious when Levi Damien said Sunseri was DC in error - people freaked out!

Yesterday was hilarious when Levi Damien said Sunseri was DC in error - people freaked out! Sunseri was very obviously only a position coach. I make no excuses though, there is a inordinate proportion of our fanbase that let's be honest, are not exactly brain surgeons. Maybe that was the cause of the insanity though, that Sunseri had no DC experience. I've heard it is in fact a college DC they are going after and the interview is on Sunday. Brian VanGorder's name (Notre Dame DC) is out there, as is any other college DC who has any previous ties to JDR. (VanGorder worked with him in Jax)
