from the perspective of a scientist, I like this idea.
Some of these guys will have had rookie combine or proday results, and we should be able to compare performance as players at positions age (in differing amounts).
Over time it should be possible to more accurately predict athletic decline.
From a practical perspective, what does this really prove for most veterans? If they're worth even a backup contract they probably have at least 100 snaps of game tape. Smells like NFL marketing more than anything.

However it could help with guys like Ray Rice. PR nightmare for the team that signs him......but if he has the chance to participate in something like this.......goes out and tears it up.......his signing will become more justifiable.
