It does sound legitimate. Sad for St. Louis. And to add insult to injury you may be looking forward to the St. Louis Jaguars if this happens.

I thought NFL said no one could move to LA area? "NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said last month that no teams would be moving to Los Angeles for the 2015 season." would happen, if it happens, starting in 2016 with Rams playing for a year or two at Rose Bowl perhaps.

The Rose Bowl will be the preferred destination, and they have said they can only host one team, not two. So it will be important for the Rams to jump on that if they want it, because no one (Raiders or Chargers) wants to get stuck in the LA Coliseum for a couple of years.

Good point SB. But why should anyone feel sorry for St. Louis? The Cards moved there from Chicago and after that the Rams from LA. I doubt the locals in St. Louis had sent condolences to Rams fans. Heck, the Rams started out in Cleveland. The rosenblooms and Georgia and all the rest of the piranhas that owned the Rams are what you get when you deal with them and theirs and the like. The only reason they ever landed in St. Louis to begin with was because the NFL was about to be sued and taken to court by the State of Missouri over the anti trust laws namely " monopolistic. practices" ya could look it up.

I live in St. Louis. I don't expect anyone to feel "sorry for" St. Louis. But losing the Rams would make a lot of fans in the city upset. They love the "Greatest Show on Turf" history of Warner and Faulk and have been very frustrated with the revolving door coaches, draft busts, and Sam Bradford's injury history. The EJD is a really crappy stadium, tho. I think Kroenke is trying to leverage a new facility here first. The EJD renovation is pissing money away, IMO.

What??? I don't get this site yet . IR DUMB.
I Don't live in St. Louis. Here is what I wrote. Mostly.
Grue is right, it is about leverage, but here is my gripe. A few years ago the players stupidly agreed to that new CBA deal. The owners got an EXTRA billion EACH year which was to go to a pot of gold to be used to build new stadiums. Money the owners could borrow from INTEREST FREE. Well? There should be a kitty with $3-$4 BILLION in it for owner financed new stadiums. Where is that pot of gold? What happened to it? The NFL owners meetings should be held at Rikers Island. St. Louis made a deal with the devil in the 90s. Georgia F. held them up once, they surely cannot be surprised by anything now regarding the tactics employed by a NFL owner.

When the Raiders were looking into it last year, the reports were that the NFL could loan them just $200 million from that fund. Frig me.
Thanks SB. Good site. I read it. Doesn't add up to $4 billion in stadium loans. It seems to me they made a set of rules after the CBA was signed. Ergo the owners lied. They should have told the players they want an extra billion each year of which SOME will go for new stadium building ( and repaid of course) and the rest in our pockets.

If you're having trouble with the quote thingy 50, you should try changing your theme. I had the same trouble. You can change your theme with the "T" that's located in the lower right corner of your browser.

Everyone has known that Stan is a real estate guy in LA. Much of the town is pissed off with the "screw you, asshole. If you don't want to be here then get the hell out" mentality. The stadium negotiations have been in work for years. There is no surprise at all.
