Bills head coach Doug Marrone opts out of his contract, apparently there was a clause in there that allowed him to do so if the team changed ownership. The Bills finally appear to be starting to put something together and he beats feet out of town.
Probably puts him just about on top of the desired coaches list. Can't imagine those fans or players are very happy with him right about now.
When I first heard about it, I kind of thought it was just a power/money move but all indications are that he is gone.

With a 4 million buy out clause he saunters off into the sunset. Hmm Buffalo I mean snow drift. I didn't even hear about that part. He leaves and they pay him 4 mil to do so with no offset clause. So no matter what he gets paid where ever he goes, he keeps all 4 mil. Orton retires one day after the season. Marrone walks. No first round pick. I think it's safe to say bills fans are looking for the nearest bridge again. |

rumor has it he wants the Jets job because he's from the Bronx...doesn't seem smart to me though, the Bills are a lot closer to being good than the Jets. The Bills pretty much just need a QB

The Bills pretty much just need a QB Problem is, he is no Geno smith fan. His Syracuse teams made him look bad a few times and he passed over Smith and drafted EJ Manuel when he went to Buffalo. It will be interesting and you know it will happen quick wherever he goes. He had insider info to decide to leave the Bills as he did. Do not rule out Atlanta, he spent time with the Saint's and never got the credit he deserved putting Paytons Saint's offense in to practice. Payton took all the credit but it was Marronne who made it happen. He was the OC that put those theories into practice. Payback perhaps? I got five on the Falcons. |

If I'm Arthur Blank I'm making damn sure I'm at the front of that line waiting to talk to him. And - I had forgotten about his work with the Saints.
