If starting a team from scratch and you had your pick of anybody, who would you take? You can pick 1 goalie, 1 defenseman and 1 forward.
Things to take into consideration:
1.) Contract status (team control or not)
2.) Salary Cap
Who would you take? Why?

Hedman Ekblad or Seth Jones would be my D-man I don't get to see them much being on the left coast
Cory Schneider would be my keeper although Gibson or Campbell may change my mind if I ever got to see them play
Connor McDavid would be my forward I'm starting from scratch so I want a real young core and unlike the Oilers I'd get a couple greasy types that are total pros to guide 'em not Hemsky types

Goalie: Jack Campbell (risky I know) - just think he's gonna be a stud.
Defense: Shea Weber - expensive contract, but money won't look so bad in 5 years and most of the money has been paid up front). Need stability, leadership and a dman who can play in all situations.
Forward: John Tavares - 3 more years after this one for $5.5M.
