OSU up 22 points and they had 4 turnovers. That was a very physical beat down.

Wasn't last night. tOSU pounded Oregon into submission. That was impressive. PSU and OSU played an ugly low scoring game that went to 2 OT. There was a lot of mouth-punching from both sides and it was glorious. The Nits D-Line and LBs attacked all night and shot gaps leaving a lot of single coverage. Oregon spent a lot of time in zone, allowed the O-Line to generate a head of steam and open holes. When the Ducks crowded the line in short-yardage, it was effective. But their base defense was exactly the wrong way to slow Ohio State. It might work in the PAC 12 but you have-have-have to get in OSU's backfield and attack the read-option exchange from the inside and force Elliot to string out wide. In all fairness to the Buckeyes, the O-Line became much stronger as the season went on. I do not think the QB mattered as much. All 3 Buckeye Qbs had effective skill sets to run that offense with slightly different strengths. Braxton's quickness/elusiveness counters Jones' bull rush for example.

They really need to change the rule stopping the clock on first downs. It just causes unnecessary wear and tear on players because it just drags out the game longer.

All 3 Buckeye Qbs had effective skill sets to run that offense with slightly different strengths. Braxton's quickness/elusiveness counters Jones' bull rush for example. I was really impressed with Jones. In watching the ESPN Voices feed (which was great BTW - they were the first ones to pick up on the Big 12 referee's uncanny resemblance to Bob Newhart which then blew up on Twitter), they kept reflecting on how he resembled Tebow and how Meyer used him in those sets. I saw him more along the Vince Young vein. The kid was a bull... but made some very nice throws that kept drives moving along and eventually took the starch out of Oregon's defense. And yes - their O-Line was terrific.
Live by the zone... die by the zone. And - Marriota reminded me a LOT of Vinny Testaverde against your heroes in the 87 Fiesta Bowl. tOSU's defense just seemed to have all the answers on how to defend him and his offense. That was one of the most pedestrian 300 yard passing games you will ever see.
I'm no B1G fan. They along with the Irish were rammed down our throats by Stars and Stripes while I was overseas in the 70's and I grew to loathe them. But - that was impressive and makes me glad to have their network on my DirecTV account.
Of course - once U$C returns to their rightful place at the top of the PAC 12 we will resolve all of this.

And Mariota is rethinking the draft. I don't he goes ahead of Winston even if he enters the draft. A whole different league. As far as Winston's "baggage," I say BS. The press has been up his azz for two years. The kid can play in the pocket and throw it. Ya want tim tebow nice guy, you limit yourself on the field. Ya take a Winston and you open up the field. Ya can fix a guy off the field that is so young, not like he has been outdoing armed robberies, the kid likes sea food.

Otherwise he would have had his arms full of breaded fish fillets.
And yes. Young Marcus' draft value plummeted last night. Even Chip moved him down his draft board. Granted - the Ducks were without some important weapons but the entire philosophy of that offense got exposed a little bit last night.

Ohio State's Tack On Touchdown: Classes Urban Douchbaggery or Generous Player Reward? Discuss Oregon laid 59 on FSU. Just the way it is. It would be more insulting to an opponent to just lay down really. That shows more than just I can beat your azz, it says I have no respect for your azz.

I tend to agree Winston has played in a pro style offense while Marriota plays in the spread. Winston is far and away the better QB (on the field ) prospect. I also agree that some of these 'transgressions' were blown out of proportion. I wouldn't want to see him go to a big market team tho' (that'd be you Woody). Marriota may have played himself out of the #1 spot although his pro day may make sure anyways

Mariota has to sit for at least one year or it could ruin his chances early in the NFL. He can succeed, in time, he has the work ethic, but he is not a pro style QB now. Not even close in my opinion.
Winston? you can throw him to the dogs right away. He can take it. Hey, really, FSU is a sub .400 team if not for Winston. They really were not that good all year. Not even top 20.
