So heroin is pretty much taking over my state Now what gets me is pot is considered in the same class a heroin...and "Big Pharma"., you know the people that don't want anything cured they'll just make you feel a little better for a while for a hefty price...is a huge part of the reason why pot wasn't legalized long ago. They want you buying their drugs, dammit! Pot has been proven to have medicinal benefit. Heroin supposedly doesn't have any benefit but that oxy-codone stuff basically is heroin...people get hooked on the prescription then when that runs out, on to heroin... But anyway, this story is about a guy that overdosed and his "Friends" tried to put him in a cab... hyannisnews.com/shock-report-friends-tried-to-stuff-unconscious-od-victim-into-taxi-cab-video-of-first-responders-saving-a-life-hyannis-news/

I was a mi!itary cop for 7 years. Worked as a detention officer for 4 years.
Heroin is a horrible drug. It is very addictive and what it does to a nice guy is a pitiful sight for sure. Knew a super nice guy who was an addict. He stayed straight for about a year. Took a hit one night and I never saw the dude again.
This guy was one of the coolest dudes I ever knew. He taught me the job on his time and was always cool, no matter what. Never let anything piss him off. I have no idea what happened to him.

They might as well legalize pot. It ain't that bad. The gov't might as well tax it and make money off it like they do beer and cigs. The Lord knows they need the cash.

Always call ems when somebody ODs. Always. You have no idea what was in the drugs the guy took. Some dealers will lace heroin and pot with PCP and other drugs just so they can say they deal the best stuff. Don't ever play around with a person who has OD. And never let a friend drive drunk, please. My stepdaughter had a drink the other day and we wouldn't let her drive to the store. Somebody drove for her. Especially after I told her I had no money to bail her out with.

They probably would have just told him to walk if he was capable of walking. Some friends. Nobody offered to ride in the cab with him but I guess that turned out to be a good thing.

Gents--and the Almighty Zig!,
Its interesting that you bring this topic up. I moved down here in '08 and have witnessed two pretty decent kids (under 18) that my boys attended school with OD on this shit. I never saw this in NYC before I left. I have friends and family in the health care business; and their take is that the epidemic is a side effect of the crack down on prescriptions for pain med's, and that heroin is now cheaper than most drugs on the street.
If you know anything about my state; I live south of the B&C Canal just north of the capitol Dover. It's growing fast since that last housing boom, the diversity is changing and growing. It's like rednecks meet money as more and more northern corporations incorporate down in Delaware and set up satellite offices and use Del. instead of India as outsourcing. Point being, I would've thought the usual with the youth, mostly ganja and Natty Lights...but I was surprised by the amount of crystal meth also around. Last winter I was flabbergasted when I had a cold and ran to CVS to get some relief for my jumbo stuffed pillow head. I couldnt breathe so I grabbed anything and everything to help; only to be ID'd on the check out. Apparently, unbeknowest to me; you can make crystal meth from cold tablets. My house is kinda rural; and just last week the wife was blowing up my phone telling me helicopters, hazmat teams and police invaded a house down the road. She thought someone was making bombs or something. Turns out some redneck was making meth in his shed instead of bird houses.
Sad.

Macho Row also lives in Middletown area. Sad to hear that area has degraded so badly with the drugs. Here in Missouri, meth & heroin are pretty rampant. With so much rural area, it isn't really a surprise.

I've heard heroin is easier to obtain than the pills (hillbilly heroin). Many get hooked on oxy or whatever other opiate pills and then switch to H due to its availability.

Well put it this way, I will be here for at least 4 more years with the middle son at University of Delaware. I like no sales tax, low property tax. Might look for a piece of land so I can grow ganja for a living when they legaliz(s)e it. I am in Townsend. Middletown is too chick for me. LOL

We cant legalize ganja here in the states, but big Pharma can make death in a tablet and its all okay.

All of the drug companies told Doctors that oxy was not addictive and they believed them then handed it out like candy. When everyone wised up and cut off the supply, the addicts switch to heroin.

Is probably the worst thing a Dr could prescribe it is addictive as hell, I have seen the mess it makes with peoples lives, I have had them prescribed once took one and yes I felt no pain but my motor skills and thought process were barely there. Ended up giving them to a local hospice and glad I did

I know a kid addicted to heroin, he sells everything he gets his hands on to obtain more heroin. it's a shame. but he loves it so I guess.
pills are easier to obtain here than heroin is, but heroin still is a major problem in some areas of Milwaukee. crack is a much, much bigger epidemic imo
