Could Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere be on the verge of leaving the Emirates on loan? The Daily Mail has reported the Gunners are ready to send him out to secure regular football and the claim has since been confirmed to ESPN FC by a source close to the club.
Wilshere, left out of new England manager Sam Allardyce's first international squad, will be allowed to leave on a temporary basis, given that competition for a central midfield spot is likely to be fierce.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes his injury-hit star would benefit from regular football somewhere else, but that somewhere will not include any club that could rival the Gunners for a place in the top four. It could be elsewhere in Europe too, with Valencia having registered an interest in a loan switch for Wilshere during Gary Neville's stint as manager last season.
