That was an educational read. I guess idiots aren't restricted by region. And it indirectly was the reason the Sonics left town as the money the Ackerley's requested to upgrade the Key (to be a basketball only venue) was the reason 10 years later the city wouldn't foot the bill when the Key was in need of replacement. Therefore the Sonics and Durant became the Thunder |

Seems the KHL has the draft lottery idea right
Nadezhda Cup is a trophy played for by the teams that didn't make the playoffs. The championship garners you the 1st overall pick

remember going to the Fantastic 5 draft (Owen Nolan, Petr Nedved, Keith Primeau, Mike Ricci & Jaromir Jagr) 1990 NHL Entry Draft at BC Place. Great draft was upset the Canucks took Nedved I like Burkie wanted Jagr, most locals wanted Primeau, I'd have been happy with Ricci as well |

Great draft was upset the Canucks took Nedved I like Burkie wanted Jagr, most locals wanted Primeau, I'd have been happy with Ricci as well Yes I was there for the Fantastic five plus Tkachuk, Marty B, Sydor, Derian,, Chris Simon Doug Weight, Geoff Sanderson, who was the last one we stayed for like almost 2 hours after the draft started remember also yapping with a few Sharks fans which was odd cause they weren't going to play till the next season |

Pilots replaced only after WA politician threatened MLB just like MI did to get a team in KC (Mariners sounds better anyways). NHL still circling the runway Which brainiac at MLB thought a 40 year old wooden baseball stadium that seats 11K and that Finley called a pigsty just a year and a half before, when picking Oakland over Seattle for moving the A's, was a good place to play baseball anyways |

At 200 pages, it gets a little unwieldy. I vote with Swampy. Shortly before the start of the season start a new thread. Maybe call it Hockey 17 - 18. |
