Well , that brings a whole "Prison" slant to the conversation.... Story time! My senior year at Boston College, BC is in the title game against North Dakota. Game is in Albany so we make the drive, of course! Miller had edged out/stolen the Hobie Baker award from Brian Gionta. We get to the arena and we're in our BC stuff. I see Miller in his Michigan state jersey giving an interview. I wait till he's done and say "congrats on the hobie baker Ryan" he looks at my BC jersey and says "fuck off" I reply "wow, if you were such a good goalie, you'd think your team would still be playing tonight" then he gave me the finger. Then later that night Krys Kolanos scored an OT goal to give BC the national championship and we partied like maniacs. I assume Miller went home and cried in his room while he beat off using sandpaper

Wow - what a dick sniffer !!! Glad your Lads won after that. it was so tense! In my 4 years at BC Freshman year - Lost in title game to Michigan in OT, we hit posts and a crossbar in OT Sophomore year - Lost to Maine in OT in the frozen four, Maine then beats New hamoshire next game for the title Junior year - Lost to North Dakota in regulation in the title game Senior year - finally get that title! That team had: Brian Gionta, Scott Clemmensen, Chuck Kobasew, Keys Kolanos, Brooks Orpik, Rob Scuderi...and a few others in forgetting

Jerry York is a college hockey god. He's like if you took Coach K from basketball, made him not a douchebag, and put him on the ice. Jerry is a classy guy, and very humble. He makes players accountable, he even checks their dorms to make sure they aren't slobs. He's as hands on a coach as you can be and the results don't lie!

Offer to buy Hurricanes, keep team in Carolina couldn’t come at a better timeHard to believe Jeff Skinner is only 25 seems like he's been there forever Other surprising (to me anyways) quote from the article While some may still question Carolina’s ability or willingness to support the club, it’s worth noting from 2005-06 to 2013-14, the Hurricanes’ average attendance was 16,300-plus. The team won the Stanley Cup at the start of that run, but made the playoffs only one other time during that nine-year stretch, yet fans continued to show up. So if that was the case then, there’s no reason why a consistently successful Hurricanes club wouldn’t start to pack the house.

The important bit they leave out when talking about attendance numbers for some of the "iffy" franchises is ticket price. Winnipeg is a relatively small venue , but being a hockey mad market they make it work with huge cost to buy tickets . That 16,300-plus did not pay anywhere near what 16 thousand fans pay in Calgary each game.

Good point Harry that's like that Vancouver lawyer who bought Panthers season tickets and got a Jersey thrown in for less than the price of 2 top priced seats in Vancouver for one game

That is why i am shocked the league has not had the vision to get a second Team into Ontario and Quebec , and a Team into Saskatchewan. NHL in Canada is a license to print money.

Not with the lower dollar and Southern Ontario with a probable $1 B franchise fee and territorial payments to Tor0nt0 and Buffalo probably 3X's Vegas' in fee. Saskatoon would never get a quality UFA to sign like Winnipeg. I suspect QC was passed over for 2 reasons 1) they want a western team (IE: Seattle) 2) if Carolina, Long Island or Jersey need to move in the near future they have a viable option to relocate to.

If Houston get a Team before Que i will toss my cookies I'd stick one in Seattle before Houston got a sniff. A Texas rivalry would be great but after reading that article Houston can go fuck themselves. Seriously.
