It was an interesting article. Funny he could have shown some loyalty to the only team he played for all those years, but instead stuck with his current team. Lou said he had a standing offer to join the Devils management, but apparently declined. Big egos in washed up players are hard to understand.

That is such a tough decision

there is actually quite a list of bad trade aways for Boston in the last 10 years Now we just need the Pen's to die and the universe will be back in order. With the Islanders playing lights out hockey led by Johnny T., Rag's on the rise, Caps in contention.....Detroit having an EC voter registration card; things good get good for the 2nd half. I do kind of like the Islanders finally being back in the hunt again

How about those Pens tonight. The Jets come in riding a 5 game winning streak, the Pens are without Sid and Geno. Not only that they put Greise in the net instead of Fluery. So of course the Pens win 5 - 3 with an empty netter at the end. If we're lucky Sid and Geno will stay out a while longer. Beau Bennett had a milestone tonight. He played his 10th consecutive game without getting injured, his longest streak of the season.

Guess they should have approved Wang's Lighthouse Propject I heard it would be temporary and basically "on purpose" if you will. Just to stick it to Long Islanders until they vote and approve and new stadium and then they move back.

You have "The Almighty Jew" involved in the whole Brooklyn redevelopment; and as some NY RE moguls say; redevelopment of the Masoleum. Also, rumor is the Russian wants out of ownership for the Crooklyn Nets due to his vaporizing net worth. Hope he wasnt all in rubles

He has been wonderful. Rarely makes the same mistake twice, plays sound defensive hockey, has good instincts of when to jump a play and always seems to make the correct pass. Not quite ready to put him in Zubov's class... but he's really really good.

Having been to both... Give me Dallas. I was pretty impressed with Austin. We are down there every 4-6 weeks (in-laws live north of Austin about 30 miles). Completely different vibe than Dallas or Ft. Worth. I worry that commercialization is starting to creep in but there's nothing quite like Sixth Street. I still need to take my brother-in-law and catch the Texas Stars in Cedar Park sometime. I'm told the arena is a cool place and is easily accessible. Oh... and the BBQ - second to none. If you make it back, go to the Salt Lick. Trust me.

I'm trying to remember if I went to the Salt Lick a few years ago when I was in Austin for a week to do some training. I didn't venture too far off 6th Street but did go to one BBQ place that was 3 blocks or so south of 6th St. I'll have to rack the ole brain to see if I can remember the names of the places I ate at.

Maybe Stubbs... or Iron Works? Those are both dead in the midst of the 6th St. scene.
Getting to Salt Lick requires a little effort. It's (the original) located about 10 miles SW of Austin proper on what used to be a little 2-lane Farm-&-Market road (ain't 2 lane no more). But - you will know you're there when you get to it. Between the massive dirt parking lot and the smell of mesquite and hickory smoke - there is no mistake.
And - if you walk out of that place with hunger pangs then shame on you. I've been there twice. Hurt myself both times.

It was the Iron Works. If memory serves, it was pretty good too. I didn't have a rental car when I was in Austin since training was at the hotel we were staying at but with 6th Steet a half block from the hotel that wasn't a problem at all.
