So - everyone here knew that Jamie Benn was "playing through" a lower body ailment. Now we know what it was. Hip surgery coming up. 4-5 months rehab. He's such a bad ass. so...bad hip and a bad ass......do they do ass replacements ?  |

So - been gone a few days. Anything going on? Petr Mracek and the Red Wings are being questioned by Tampa police about allegedly stealing game one of their first round Stanley Cup playoff series 3-2. It seems that desk Sgt. O'Malley had to answer "nature's call" during each of the three Red Wings goals. He told his officers that he saw nothing but Lightning players crashing the net all night and also reported that they must have outshot Detroit by at least a 3 to 1 margin. In reality Sarge, you are spot on. The shots on goal were at an even worse ratio than you recollect. Tampa outshot Detroit to the tune of 46-14. Actually this represented a refreshing change for Wing Nuts like me...who have watched the Wings outshoot opponents at such an obscene ratio many times, only to come up short. Steve Yzerman must be scratching his head in Tampa thinking it's "deja vu" all over again! Pavel Datsyuk lit the lamp on the first two Detroit goals, assisted on each by Darren Helm. Dan Boyle scored a shorthander for Tampa, tying it at 1-1 with a nifty steal. Luke Glendening returned the favor in the third, scoring shorthanded for the game winner. |

Heard a few minutes ago - the Stars have inked John Klingberg to a 7 year deal.
Kid earned every penny. That's one blue liner position we don't have to worry about.
