With the trade deadline just around the corner, Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Rob Zepp, Dallas Stars defenseman David Schlemko, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Tim Erixon, Vancouver Canucks forward Brandon McMillan, and Washington Capitals forward Aaron Volpatti have all been placed on waivers, per TVA Sports Renaud Lavoie.

The Pens trade Simon Despres for Ben Lovejoy straight up. This was such a bad trade it was Brian Burke bad. This is the first year that Despres has gotten any kind of consistent time and he has done well. Its especially amazing because he was paired with Scuderi the whole time. The kid is 23 and a former first round pick, and they trade him for an over the hill mediocre D man that the Pens traded a few years ago.  |

The Pens trade Simon Despres for Ben Lovejoy straight up. This was such a bad trade it was Brian Burke bad. This is the first year that Despres has gotten any kind of consistent time and he has done well. Its especially amazing because he was paired with Scuderi the whole time. That sucks Harry losing Giordano for the season. Well I guess that makes Ekman-Larsson the Norris favorite now It is a seriously damaging blow. Also in the really sucks category is the fact that Sven B. is gonna be on your team next year. It's kinda sad that Burke within 2 weeks of coming on board was hugely critical of what was a very young talent. The guy has been blacklisted ever since. a first round offensive minded player , that was somehow supposed to develop on occasional 3 rd line minutes. Every goal he gets in Vanc is gonna get an "A-Hole Burke!!!!!" shout from me. |

Disco Dan kept sending him down to Wilkes-Barre and now MJ has him traded. I don't see anything wrong with the kid that a year or two of quality playing opportunity won't cure. |
