Discuss trades that you may have been offered, or are pondering offering. I joined a long standing keeper league this season, and this dude has been after me for Miggy.. I turned down his first offer of Greinke and Weaver, plus a swap of draft picks....I'd get his 9th rounder, next year, which is actually a first, there are 8 keepers, and he'd had gotten my 14th...told him i wasn't to hip on either of his pitchers, and Miggy would be a key to my O... Now, I got a another offer of King Felix and a [HASH]9, for Miggy and a [HASH]20....... do you do this trade?

SPs are more likely to get injured than a 1B. But also depends who else you have...seems like you really need pitching? I'm not much of trader though. They always seem to blow up in my face lol. I just try to draft well then hope nobody gets injured. not off to a good start with that this year tho

I think it depends on what other hitters you have and the type of league it is
I dont think I would ever trade the best hitter for the best pitcher

Matt Cain in exchange for Yoenis Cespedes - should I do it ?
I have Strasburg, Price, Sale, Bailey and Garza also on my pitching staff in a 10-team league. Hitting could be better.

Cain seems to be settling into the downside of his career, as this is his 2nd down year. And, after checking, I see that Cespedes did better in the 2nd half of last year than the first, and, in hopes that the trend will continue. Good luck with this move.

Well I own Cain in a couple of leagues, so I may as well make the trade. In this league, it will give me an outfield of Cespedes, Bautista, Pence and Byrd. That's at least competitive.

If you can get similar value for Cain in the other leagues you play in, you may wish to consider trading him there as well.

Cespedes seems to be in a bit of a lull, but I don't doubt the production will be there. Owning Cain this year feels like owning Matt Kemp last year- almost, but not quite worth dropping. Whatever production I can get out of Cain would be welcome.

Alex Gordon or Torii Hunter? Injured or not........ Even though he is hurting a bit, I would go with Gordon. Hunter has hit more homers, and has a slightly better average. BUT, his OBP is very low, so low as to be losing some playing time going forward would be my guess. And, Hunter is 38, so....

In my league I am currently in second place out of twelve but think I need to improve my SP and maybe add 1 good RP to make a run at the title.
In my keeper league here are the rules:
Can keep 6 to 10 guys that are Major League Keepers
Carry 10 MiLB'er to begin the year and have a draft every off-season to make sure you have 10
Once a MiLB'er exhaust eligibility they become a Farm Keeper. For the first year a Farm Keeper is a Last Round (27th) pick. If you have multiple they then take subsequent picks. A second year Farm Keeper is a 15th round pick.
It is a 6 x 6 Head to Head League:
Batting - R, HR, RBI, SB, Avg., OPS
Pitching - K's, ERA, WHIP, K/9, QS, Hld+SV
My Roster
Batters:
C - Sally Perez 1B - Jose Abreu 2B - Dee Gordon 3B - Martin Prado SS - Starlin Castro IF - Anthony Rizzo RF - Gencarlo Stanton CF - Jacoby Ellsbury LF - Yoenis Cespedes OF - Evan Gattis UTL - Oswaldo Arcia (15th Rounder if Kept) BN - Jed Gyorko (15th Rounder if Kept) DL - George Springer (Last Rounder Next Year) DL - Brandon Belt
Pitching:
SP - Jon Lester SP - John Lackey RP - Brad Boxberger RP - Andrew Miller P - Jake McGee P - Pat Neshek P - Adam Warren BN - Lance Lynn BN - Aaron Harrang BN - RA Dickey BN - Sonny Gray BN - Mike Minor BN - Jesse Hahn BN - Jimmy Nelson
Player I have the rights to and are not on my squad:
P - Jake Odorizzi (Going to add him on Saturday for Harang for his Sunday Start) C - Travis D'arnaud 2B - Jonathan Scoop
Guys on the Farm I could Trade:
Kris Bryant Archie Bradley Jorge Soler Dylan Bundy Alen Hanson
I have these standing offers on the table to improve my pitching, but not sure I want to move Rizzo:
Deal [HASH]1:
Rizzo, Boxberger and my 22nd Round Pick
Grenekie, Ceshek, Clint Fraizer and his 19th Round Pick
Deal [HASH]2:
Rizzo
Either Sale or Bumgardner straight up
Deal [HASH]3:
Rizzo, D'Arnaud (Last round Keeper next year) and my 19th Round Pick
Latos, Ventura (Last round keeper next year), Robertson and his 12th Round Pick
Do I take either of those deals or do I take my chances with the squad I have?
I have been lucky in ERA and WHIP so far this year as I am ranked near the bottom but my record is close to .500

I have been lucky in ERA and WHIP so far this year as I am ranked near the bottom but my record is close to .500 Well look who finally decided to join us........j/k In case this was not relayed back to you, here was my reply - For Floffman After going over your info, and in respect to the 2 trades you have been offered, I think I would do the Rizzo for Sale trade. It would be the move with the most impact, to be sure. And, as long as Sale remains healthy, this is a very fair move. Now, onto the stuff I see that you did not ask about. First, though I see your league is holds and saves,......., did you plan and mean to have no closers? If so, fine. If not, well, it just strikes me as odd that you don;t really have one. Second, only 1 bench hitter? Maybe your pitching issues caused you to use 7 of your 8 spots on pitching? Again, this is not a huge issue, but, it does look odd, and, it limits the roster moves and changes you can make from week to week. Just something to think about, especially after this trade, as your pitching gets immediately better adding a # 1 starter like Sale. Third, funny enough, is 3rd base. Does Gyorko qualify at 3B in your league? If so, you may want to think about starting him over Prado. If not, you may want to turn a bench pitcher into another 3B, or, even a super sub that is 3B elig, along with more. It's the only hitting roster spot that jumps out at me saying " help". Fourth, about this excess pitching. I would think the guys to consider moving would be, in order, Dickey, Nelson, & Minor. Again, just a thought. Last, Though now is probably not the time, as he value is likely at a low ebb, but of your guys on the farm, I would consider moving Dylan Bundy. I am starting to hear some bad things about him and his arm, which is never good. If you can now or soon get anything really good back for him, I think you should consider it. I hope this helps, and, good luck to you the rest of the way. Read more: sportschatter.boards.net/thread/321/baseball-business-good?page=22#scrollTo=56817#ixzz39B2YQMaB
