At first glance, Ben and Jerry’s Hazed and Confused ice cream flavor doesn’t appear to be offensive. The tasty treat, which combines chocolate and hazelnut ice cream with fudge chips and a hazelnut core, seems to be a play on the Led Zeppelin classic “Dazed and Confused” with the hazelnut centricity of the variety. Maybe there is even a little subtext of the effects of a certain drug there. Maybe. Related: Hear an Alternate Version of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Black Dog’ But, that’s not how some people see it. Apparently, there has been a vocal outcry again the flavor’s name concerning the very real issue of hazing. And now, next month the powers that be at the ice cream factory (maybe Ben and Jerry themselves?) will meet to discuss changing the name of the ice cream flavor. According to Bloomberg, there have been three complaints, total. Two named in the article had particular ties to hazing, as their sons had been victims of terrible acts in the name of hazing. wzlx.cbslocal.com/2014/09/19/ben-jerrys-led-zeppelin-themed-hazed-and-confused-ice-cream-under-fire/SMH.

Zep was awesome. I see no good reason to change the name. Some people are just too sensitive.

Zep was awesome. I see no good reason to change the name. Some people are just too sensitive. Some people? Waaay too many if you ask me. I find myself thinking this movie line several times a day, and, it is ususally about all I can do to not say it to people out loud. "Lighten up Francis........."

People have way too much time on their hands. "Lighten up Francis" indeed.
