The Tigers just had Victor Martinez at the plate in the top of the seventh, one out and Torii Hunter on at third base and Miguel Cabrera on at 2nd. Victor hits a little squibber to first.
Hunter should have scored easily. He FROZE on third. Miguel Cabrera should not have MOVED at all on 2nd. The wrong runner moves. Cabrera is doubled off at second. These are veteran players used to the heat of a pennant race? WTF?
This, on the heels of Joe Nathan's meltdown last night. That leads to a worrying tendency for David Price to either have no-hit stuff or get batted about badly.
Well, it is the latter tonight. 6ER and over 100 pitches into the sixth before he was pulled.
I miss Drew Smyly more by the day. Thank God KC seems ill-prepared for their first real pennant race since 1985 or the Tigers would be toast. I'd rather play the goddamned Angels than the Twins right now!
