so rock is mayo "injury prone"? # of games played in mayo's career, mankins played the exact amount in that period of time. but mankins played two more years (missing 0 games) and made more pro bowls. so if mayo is traded, it wouldnt be a big deal, right/ God you guys need to pay attntion. Mankins played with a torn ligament, didnt miss games over it. He played thru a lot of injuries...thats good and bad. He played a lot at 60%.

Yet he was shown the door... I can't wait until this shit bites Belachick in the ass in the form of the Bills beating them out for the final playoff spot... mankins just got hurt, so the lucked out there. but based on what rock says, mayo is "injury prone" too.

Your definition of sucks, sucks. Ok. I'm still waiting for something that he does well. Is it tackling? Yay! What a rare talent!

Ok. I'm still waiting for something that he does well. Is it tackling? Yay! What a rare talent! So he is average? At best. Look at the AJ Hawk comparison. What is he? Great? Good? Average? Shitty? The impact play numbers say that he's better than Mayo. Sacks, INT's, TFL's, passes defensed...Hawk has been better in all of them. Mayo has more forced fumbles.

Andre Ellington active vs. Chargers
not "out for the year", or even 1 game

I won't argue AJ Hawk being mediocre with you, because you're right...I don't pay enough attention to the other guy though... They were both top 10 picks that have made very few impact plays, and neither do anything especially well. 10th pick has little to do with it. There have been bigger busts above and below him. Mayo is a pretty good player. Nothing more. Above average LB.

We're not being accused of saying someones the best ever in boston...and its STILL not good enough.

So where is AJ Hawk on your "tier of LB's?" Lower than mayo on most peoples wish list. Mayos a better pass defender. Hes more naturally athletic than hawk.

Mark! The Patriots games I have seen, you don't notice him. I can easily look at his numbers though, and clearly see that he makes fewer impact plays than AJ Hawk...who is never praised as a good LB. Why? Because he's not. Just like Mayo.

Equal 40, equal broad jump, vertical, cone drill, shuttle drill...all Hawk, despite being 6 lbs heavier. So now that the "better natural athlete" stuff has been flushed, explain Hawk's superiority in sacks, passes defensed, Int's, and TFL's...
