13th overall 1st round - RW Matthew Coronato
45th overall 2nd round - LW William Stromgren
77th overall 3rd round - C Cole Huckins
89th overall 3rd round - D Cameron Whynot

Yeah...as much as I like Bennett that would be too much for us, he'll do good in Florida though since he'll be playing with more talent and have more minutes too. Today Calgary signed Coleman and Zadorov, and even though it's too many years for Coleman the price is about right since he'll help us right away - and same with Zadorov the price is about right and he's big and tough which is what Sutter wants. |

Preseason starts today and Calgary first preseason game is tomorrow, needless to say I'm very excited for the season to finally start😃
I'm very hopeful this year, while sad at losing Giordano, I like the offseason moves - and especially enthusiastic to see what a full season under Sutter will accomplish.
I think Calgary will make the playoffs, they will capitalize on a weak division, even though they failed to do so last year.
Also, Johnny Hockey will stay in Calgary, and will have good season - add will Monahan and Mangepane.
Coleman and Pitlik and Richardson will prove to be good additions.
Stone and Zadarov will shore up the defence, with Tanev and Anderson getting most of the responsibilities.
Really hoping Lucic gets the captain C or at least the assistant A, Lucic hasn't been in Calgary as long as other - but he is exactly what Sutter want all his players to emulate, so giving him the C would make other follow his lead more.
We have a strong tough Sutter team now, and I expect that will translate into making it extremely rough for other teams to play against us - this year Tkachuk gets tougher and nastier too under Sutter guidance, and this year the rest of team fights for Tkachuk better than past years.
Markstrom will be the goalie we hoped he would be as well.
Haven't felt this good about a Calgary team since last time Sutter took Calgary to playoffs.

Well, first preseason game very very disappointing, was hoping Sutter would get more out of his players - especially his farm players.
But, preseason nothing to get worried about anyways - still disappointing though.
Only good thing was seeing Lucic with the A on his sweater and Zadorov hitting everyone - also Vldar looked good in net too.

Finally first preseason win and it was against Vancouver who only dressed half their regulars, but still impressive win for Calgary whose veterans controlled the play for most of the game - and Gubrandson beat someone up tonight too 💪🔥👍

Very happy with Calgary winning their last preseason game, seemed like Sutter hockey throughout - Ehlers and Morrissey didn't return from some scrums, so must mean we playing harder than the opposition haha💪.
Overall I think Calgary is noticeably tougher noticeably more of a Sutter team, and that's a good thing - not just by getting Zadorov and Gubrandson, but Lewis Coleman Richardson Pitlik are all creating a tougher team identity that Tkachuk seems to fit in with.
Calgary is definitely one of the tougher teams now, it's not just Lucic - it's Lucic Ritchie Zadorov Gubrandson who can win fights, then the identity toughness of Coleman Tkachuk Richardson Lewis Pitlik Rasmussen Stone Tanev etc even Monahan tougher now with new hip haha and even seen Gaudreau tonight putting his body on opponents just to interrupt plays etc.
Also, I think Markstrom gonna be what we expect of him, he seems to be more focused.
So, very excited for first regular season game against Edmonton, and fully expect Calgary to be fighting to lead our division throughout the year - 🔥🔥🔥 GO FLAMES GO🔥🔥🔥

First regular season game for Calgary and it was a 5-2 loss to Edmonton, but despite the score Calgary played well and controlled most of the play outshooting Edmonton.
Calgary dominated physically as well, and and think were it not for McJesus being McJesus, this game would have been close.
From what I seen tonight despite the loss, Calgary is playing Sutter hockey well and will only improve going forward.

Few games later and Calgary is 2-1-1 and played good hard Sutter hockey each game even the games they lost - disappointed Lucic not being considered for captain though...

Another perfect game winning 4-0 over Philadelphia and first home win of season, Monahan with first goal of season, and Markstrom with shutout #3 in 4 games - and after 8 regular season games Calgary still leads the West 🥳💪🔥

At the All Star break midway mark and Calgary leads the league in shutouts with 9 and in a playoff spot - Sutter should be getting the Jack Adams award if wins a round or two in the playoffs👍
